WHICH DO YOU LIKE BEST?

Today I need your help to make a decision.  I have two cards that are the same except for the colors.  I would like to know which one you like best and why.

Do you like the Balmy Blue and Basic White?

Or do you like the Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla?

The background for both cards was made using the Shaving Cream Technique.  Have you ever tried that technique?  It's a lot of fun and messy!  No two cards will ever turn out the same as you can see on these two cards.  Even though I used the same technique and ink colors, the "sky" is different on each card.  For the Balmy Blue card, I used Basic White cardstock and for the Calypso Coral card I used Very Vanilla.

The colors of the sky were inspired by the sunrise I enjoyed a few days ago out my bedroom window as I was still lying in bed.  While these backgrounds are pretty, the sunrise was even more beautiful!  No one can outshine the Master Painter!

Here are a couple of close-ups.

Balmy Blue with Basic White

Calypso Coral with Very Vanilla

Both of these cards were made exactly the same except for the colors mentioned.  A narrow strip of designer series paper from, once again, Beauty of the Earth was used to create the grassy ground.  I tore it across the top edge and inked that edge with a sponge dauber to give it a little texture.

The "slotted" die cut pumpkin is made from Calypso Coral on both cards as is the background for the large pumpkin.  The fancy die cut pumpkin was made with one of the dies from Detailed Pumpkin Dies which is part of the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle.  Again, the Balmy Blue Card has a Basic White pumpkin, and the Calypso Coral Card has a Very Vanilla pumpkin.  The tags made with the Tailor Made Tags also are Basic White and Very Vanilla, respectively.

What do you think?  Do you have a favorite?  I personally can't decide, so I need your help!

Balmy Blue with Basic White

Calypso Coral with Very Vanilla

The inside of the cards are a little different because I did not have a left-over scrap of the Basic White Technique sheet, so I stamped a pumpkin vine and colored it with Stampin' Blends.  The Calypso Coral card uses a scrap from the Very Vanilla Shaving Cream Technique to trim the sentiment.

So, my Stamping Friends...  What do you think?  Which is your favorite?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

As with all my posts on this blog, there is a tutorial available for this card.  The directions are the same for both, so you can choose to make the color you prefer.  Or better yet, create one with your own favorite fall colors.

IT IS TIME TO GATHER TOGETHER

I have another card for you today that showcases the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle.  On Monday we saw the Pumpkin trio stamp used to create a Pumpkin Patch.  Today I'm using the pretty pumpkin designed with the leaves of autumn.  Whether you are a fan of walking through the leaves or of raking them up, so you don't have to walk through them, you have to admit that this is really a unique and pretty pumpkin.  And the best thing is, these leaves do not require raking!

The colors today are true Autumnal colors and were once again inspired by the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I layered three different patterns of this beautiful paper on Bumblebee mats.  Using multiple shapes and sizes of mats is a fantastic way to show off pretty DSP.   Plus, you get the bonus of an interesting layout.

You can check out all the colors and patterns of the Beauty of the Earth in the Product List below.

The focal point of the card is the circular mat where two pumpkins are layered.  The top Cajun Craze Pumpkin is die cut with a die from the Pretty Pumpkins bundle.  The Bumblebee pumpkin was stamped with the pretty pumpkin stamp that is covered with leaves.  It was also then cut with another die from the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle.  The leaves are also cut with dies from the Detailed Pumpkins Dies and that variation of color on the leaves is thanks to another pattern from the Beauty of the Earth DSP.

Isn't the font on the "gather together" sentiment beautiful.  I just love a pretty script font that is also easy to read.  I stamped the sentiment with Cajun Craze and easily die cut it with a Tailor Made Tag Die.  A little snippet of Bumblebee ribbon tied with Linen Thread adds the finishing touch.

To finish the inside, I added a strip of the same leaf pattern used on the front.  It is layered on another strip of Cajun Craze and then adhered to the side of the Basic White cardstock.

As I was looking for a nice sentiment for the inside of today's card, I realized I did not have a current sentiment stamp that was exactly what I had in mind for my card. So, I went on a search of my stash and found this very old one.  It is so old that it is mounted on a wood block.  But while it may be an old stamp, the sentiment is just as good for 2021 as it was years ago when I bought it.  This is why I rarely get rid of my sentiment stamps.  I think the person I have in mind to send this card to will appreciate it, so even though it is old, I'm going to use it!

If you would like the step-by-step details and cutting dimensions to make this card a tutorial is available at this link.

A VISIT TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH

All this week we are taking a walk through the Pumpkin Patch.  It's that time of year isn't it?  The colors have been a little slow to start changing here in South East Michigan this year, so it's been a little difficult to get in the Autumn mood.  But last week my Pretty Pumpkins Bundle arrived so I was excited to play with something new.

As I write this post there is also now a bit of a nip in the air, so it has me in the mood for a walk through the Pumpkin Patch.

I used designer series paper from the Beauty of the Earth package for my color inspiration.  This particular pattern has all the beautiful warm colors of autumn.  To see all the designs included in each package of the paper check out my product list below.

I used Merry Merlot for my card base and added a mat of Cajun Craze before starting to add the colorful layers from Beauty of the Earth.

The Pumpkin Trio stamp was stamped twice and colored with, of course, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.  I die cut one set of three, but fussy cut two of the smaller pumpkins from the second stamped set.

The sentiment was stamped with Merry Merlot.  I decided to fussy cut it so that I could show as much of the beautiful designer series paper as possible.

And what do you think about that beautiful blue sky?  Pretty isn't it?  And oh, so easy!  It's another design from the Beauty of the Earth designer series paper pack.

On the inside of the card I tore another strip from the beautiful multi-colored paper and added it to the bottom of the sentiment mat.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to the Pumpkin Patch today.  If you would like a tutorial with all the step-by-step directions to make this card including all the cutting dimensions, there is a FREE TUTORIAL available at this link.  A complete list of all Products I used is shown below.
