SPLENDID AUTUMN EXPRESSIONS

This card was created for one of my monthly coffee club challenges.   I love this little group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  We are from all over the United States.  We have lots of Virtual Zoom fun and enjoy challenging each other!

We are all part of the Klompenstampers Team and the challenge was to use one of our upline's design templates to create a card.

This is a great template, but the real star of this card is the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I used several different pieces of DSP for the 4 vertical strips at the bottom and then for the top and the front of the medallion, I used the gorgeous daisy design.

This slightly angled view above shows the medallion a little better.  It is made with a die from the Autumn Expressions Dies.  There is even a die to make the gold chain.  How cool is that?

The medallion opens to reveal a greeting from the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set.

It doesn't show super clearly in the photo, but the sentiment is heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

Another strip of the Splendid Autumn DSP adds some color to the inside of the card and a different scene from the same DSP covers the envelope flap.

I didn't add a sentiment to the inside -- yet!  I can easily turn it into a thank you card or a Thanksgiving card -- once I decide how it is going to be used.

DASHING AUTUMN DESIGN

Since it is the last week of the month that means it is Hodgepodge Week.  Rather than using a featured stamp set or bundle all week, I will share a variety of cards.

I used the Whitewashing Technique with Embossing Folders for today's card.  This technique was featured on one of my Learning with Friends videos earlier this month.  It is a super simple technique.  All you need is a White Craft Ink Pad, some cardstock and an embossing folder.

If you missed the video, you can still watch the replay to see just how easy it is.

As I was learning and practicing the technique, I experimented with a variety of embossing folders and this Dashing Designs Embossing Folder turned out to be one of my favorites for the technique.  The whitewash really seems to "pop" on the card.

I wanted an All Occasion card that I could use for Thanksgiving or fall birthdays, so I pulled out my Autumn Expressions Bundle to create the focal point bouquet.

The coordinating dies made it quick and easy to stamp and die cut the wheat and tree stump and the leafy dies have great detail on them so no stamping is even required.

The colors are Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Lost Lagoon and Early Espresso.

For all the details you can download a tutorial using this link.

To decorate the inside of the card and the envelope flap I used some leftover scraps from the White Washing Technique Sheet.

REINDEER GIFT BOX

The Reindeer Days Suite of Products includes a little Book Box.  I do not often do 3D projects, but I had to at least try to make one of these.  This was actually the very first project I made with this Reindeer Days Suite, but I have saved it for last to share with you.

This box comes as a set of two pieces.  The one piece is used to create the "bottom" of the box. After creating that bottom portion of the box it is then adhered to the side of the "book" portion that has the tab.  The rest of the book wraps around the bottom box to create the lid.

I started by covering the sides of the bottom portion of the box with Party Cardstock, and also added a layer of Pool Party to the top and tab of the book.

I used the Pine Bough Die to die cut Garden Green cardstock and adhered that "upside down" (so the boughs point up) on the top of the book.

Then it was time to figure out how to decorate it.  I decided to use the little Reindeer head and have him peeking out through the branches of the pines.  He is made with a set of 3 dies that layer directly on top of each other to make the cute little guy.  The first layer was cut from Early Espresso; the middle layer from Basic Beige and the top layer from Pecan Pie.  I used my Blending Brush and some Petal Pink ink to add a little color to the ears of the Basic Beige before I adhered the pieces together.

After tucking him into the pine boughs I added the Merry Christmas sentiment above him.

Then I went to close my box.  OH NO!  The tab on the book box covered up my cute little reindeer.

Solution...  Make another Reindeer and put him on the tab.

For this guy I decided to give him a wreath around his neck and add a cute little Real Red bow with a Peppermint in the center.

To dress up the inside of the box I covered the bottom with some Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Reindeer Days DSP.

Now when the tab is closed, the Reindeer on the tab lays directly over the Reindeer on the top of the box.  The box does come with an adhesive strip under the tab, but I didn't want the adhesive to "mess up" my reindeer on the top of the box when the box was opened, so I used a couple of magnets to hold the tab shut.

The inside of the finished box measures approximately 3-3/8" x 2-5/8" x 7/8", so it will hold any small size gift like jewelry, a gift card or maybe a few sweet treats.

Use this link to download a Tutorial for the box.

For my little box, I used everything that is included in the Reindeer Days Suite except the Red & White Twine and the Embossing Folder.  A complete list of supplies is shown below.
