ENCIRCLED WITH KINDNESS

On Wednesday, we were living among the gold.  Today, we are living among the copper.  If I had to choose between a pile of gold or a pile of copper, I obviously would choose gold, but I'm not sure if I would choose Wednesday's gold card or today's copper card or as my favorite.  It's difficult to decide.

Which would you choose?

I do know, however, which sentiment in the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set is my favorite.  It's the one on today's card!  "In a world where YOU can be anything, THANK YOU for being KIND."  Isn't that a beautiful thought?

The designer series paper (DSP) I used for the background on today's card is another of my favorites.  I have a confession.  I've been hoarding it!  But I know it is likely to retire soon, and I'm sure there will another new design that I cannot live without, so I'm making myself USE it!

This paper is from the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP Collection.  The picture definitely does not do it justice.  The "brown" flowers are copper foil, and the "white" flowers are silver foil.  The background is Basic Black so it makes the foils really pop.  Today's Simply Elegant DSP and the Expressions in Ink DSP from Wednesday both certainly exude elegance, however the mood of each collection is very different.  The Expressions in Ink DSP is bright, colorful, and contemporary.  The Simply Elegant DSP on today's card has a more traditional feel with an "old world" beauty.  I could see it being used on cards with a vintage style--a style that I have never been able to conquer.

Once again, I let the Designer Series Paper and Foil Cardstock do the "heavy lifting" for today's card.

That means there was minimal lifting for me!  The Basic Black and Copper Foil die cuts were made with dies from the Encircled in Beauty die set.  So, all that was required on my part was a quick and easy pass through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

The medallion in the center was made by heat embossing the sentiment with Black Embossing Powder on Silver Foil.  It was then quickly and easily die cut with the largest circle die from Tasteful Labels Dies.

The three die cut elements were layered together.  Some with dimensionals and some without. When the assembly was completed, it was attached to the front of the card with dimensionals.  Dimensionals under the bottom layer provide clearance so that it lays better over the ribbon.

The Ribbon is Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and adds another subtle amount of shimmer.  Two Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots in Copper provide the last finishing touch.

For the inside of the card, I used a scrap strip of the same floral paper as used for the front of the card.  I matted it with a strip of Basic Black Cardstock which helps to provide an extra little bit of pop.
