I have a bonus card for you this week. This was one of the cards I shared on Connect to Create earlier today and in the video, I promised to post the card so that you could download a copy of the directions.
Of the cards I showed today on the video this was definitely the quickest and easiest.
As I was stamping "focal points" for the other cards to demonstrate the Stained Mosaic Technique, I thought, why can't I just use a piece of Designer Series Paper? It's probably not a unique idea, but I've never seen it done, so I thought I would try it. I had nothing to lose, right? I certainly have more than enough Designer Series Paper laying around to experiment with.
I used a piece of the retired Fancy Flora DSP, and then rather than use Black ink to create the Mosaic, I used Starry Sky. This is how it turned out! I was actually surprised at how pretty the Technique looked on the designer paper.
If you missed it, you can watch a replay of the Connect to Video to learn more about the Stained Mosaic Technique. Enjoy!
The two flowers on the front of the card were stamped with Fresh Freesia/Starry Sky and Daffodil Delight/Crushed Curry. The leaves are stamped with Granny Apple Green.
I used the Elegant Eucalyptus embossing folder to emboss the top of the Basic White cardstock that shows above the Stained Mosaic.
To decorate the inside and the envelope, I used a little more of the Fancy Flora DSP. This DSP was part of the Fancy Floral Suite in the January - April Mini, so it is now retired, but since I was experimenting with the Stained Mosaic technique, I thought it was the perfect use for retired paper.
Use this link to access a copy of the Tutorial with all the cutting dimensions and directions to make the card. If you have any questions, please leave a comment or use the Contact Me tab to send an email.
A list of the currently available products is shown below. As I indicated the Fancy Flora DSP is retired, but no worries -- use some of that stash that I know you have!
