CIRCLE SUNSET VISTA

This week my theme is going to be "things you see at the lake."

I will be using a couple of different stamp sets and their coordinating dies that are perfect for water scenes, Seaside Bay and Waves of Inspiration.

If you have been following me for anytime at all you have probably figured out that I live on a lake and love lake life!  Thus, whenever stamp sets come out that have a water theme, I am always drawn to them.

For today's card, I was inspired by cards I saw on the Demonstrator Planning Place Facebook group and the demonstrator that shared those cards dubbed the design "Circle Vista."  The cards she shared in the group were based on a design by Brian King, another Stampin' Up! demonstrator, so I'm recognizing him as the original designer.

This card was so much easier than I thought it would be.  The fun was choosing the colors I wanted to use for my "Vista".

One quarter inch strips of cardstock are adhered to a piece of Basic Black cardstock with tiny gaps between them and then die cut with a circle.  I used the largest circle die from Stylish Shapes for my circle.

For a complete list of the colors I used, refer to the free tutorial at this link.  But really, just have fun and use up those strips of cardstock you have.

I chose colors that would represent sort of a beachy sunset.  I started with browns at the bottom for the sand, blues for the water and bright yellows, oranges, and reds for the sunset.

Once you complete your circle, look through your dies and choose something that coordinates with your scene.  It could be a flower, a tree, a cozy bench or whatever you like.  Let your imagination soar.

I chose the large bird from Seaside Bay dies and the birds in flight from Waves dies.  These are cut from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the circle vista.

Isn't this a fun design!  I'm thankful that as demonstrators, we have so many places to find new ideas and inspiration, and I love this idea from Brian King.

To decorate the inside, I kept it clean and simple.  I used the Basic Black and Crumb Cake cardstock colors from the card front and stamped a couple of the cute little birds from the Seaside Bay stamp set.  I left plenty of space to write my thank you note.

If you would like to have access to sites like the Demonstrator Planning Place and also be able to access all these wonderful ideas, I'd love to have you join my team.  As a demonstrator, you will also have the opportunity to see and purchase new products early.

Demonstrators receive an early copy of new catalogs, and mine came last week!  The upcoming Fall Mini Catalog will not go live to customers until September 6, but as a demonstrator you will be the first to see and order all the awesome new products during August.  And there are a lot of awesome products to choose from in this new Mini.  Click the following button to Join my Team.  Have questions?  Send me an email at fairlessflair@gmail.com.
