GLOWING LIGHTS AND REINDEER TREES

This is one of the cards I shared on Learning with Friends this morning to demonstrate the Glowing Lights Technique.

As I indicated on the video, I personally had better success with this technique when I used it with "silhouette" type die cuts rather than on stamped images.  I think this is because the technique requires that you use dark colored cardstock to get the "glowing" effect of the lights.  And when you stamp an image on very dark colored cardstock, the stamped images don't show up all that well.

The colors I used for my two trees on this card are Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss.  I made several of these little trees when I was practicing the technique and liked these two colors with this designer series paper from One Horse Open Sleigh.

I also practiced the glowing lights with all one color lights.  All white lights is my personal preference for my own Christmas Tree, but I liked the multi-color on the card.  What are your favorite color lights on your tree?

If you missed the Glowing Lights Technique video this morning, you can watch the replay using the link to YouTube below.

For the inside of the card I simply stamped a sentiment from my stash with Blackberry Bliss and matted the Basic White cardstock with Blackberry Bliss.  After stamping the sentiment I realized this sentiment stamp set is retired, but obviously, you can use any sentiment you like.
