MAKING GOOD THINGS BETTER

Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop.  It has been a while since I've hopped along with this talented group of demonstrators from around the world.

All this week I will be sharing cards made with the beautiful Delicate Forest Bundle.  I was attracted to this bundle for two reasons.  I thought the images would be well suited to some fun techniques, and I loved the dies.  I didn't use the dies on today's cards, but you can check them out in the Product List below to see what I mean.  And don't worry, they will be put to work later in the week!

The first technique I tried with the set was the Split Negative Technique.  It had been a while since I'd played with that technique so earlier this month I featured it in my weekly Learning with Friends series.

If you have just hopped to my blog, you may not be familiar with my Learning with Friends videos.  You can watch the replay of the Split Negative Technique below.

One of the nice bonuses of this technique is that you end up with two opposite split negatives, so you can make two cards.  For my first card above, I stayed with a black and white theme, but for my second card I decided to add a pop of color.

If you compare the two split negatives you can see that the top card has black cardstock on the left and white on the right.  The second card is just the opposite because you use the other half of each image.

The black and white card is also the Book Fun Fold, but the second card is a standard landscape fold card.

Looking a little closer, you can also see that the mat behind each of the split negative images and the sentiments are also split into opposite negatives.

Which card do you like best?  The all black and white card or the one with the pop of Pool Party?

I kept the inside of each card clean and simple -- but never naked!

For all the details to make each card free tutorials are available for download.  Use these links to download a copy of each tutorial.

Now it is time to be inspired by all of the Projects in our Blog Hop!  Enjoy your Sunday.

The product list below includes the supplies for both versions of the Split Negative cards.  Most items are common, but the embellishments and designer series paper vary between the two cards.
