PAINTING WITH TRUSTY TOOL

This week I am sharing cards that will be perfect for the favorite men in your life.  The Trusty Tools stamp set and dies were one of the first purchases I made from the January - April Mini, and I was ecstatic when it carried over into the current Annual Catalog.

I've been having so much fun with this bundle over the last few months, and since Father's Day is on its way, I thought I would design some cards that would work for Father's Day.

Today's card features the Paint Brush which may be my favorite stamp in the set.  The brush works great for colorful and happy cards because I can mix and match colors however I like.

The colors I used for this card are Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana.  The color combination came straight from my Lemon Lime Twist Color Coach.  I doubt I would ever have come up with this combination on my own, but I love it!  What do you think?

To make the paint above the brushes, I used a corner of the stamp pad and dragged it across the paper.

I wanted some paint splatters on my card, and since none of my current stamp sets include a splatters or speckles stamp I dug through my stash and found this retired stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge.  It's an oldie but a goody that I keep just for times like this.

The front sentiment is from Hooray for Surprises.  Since I don't actually have anyone to send a Father's Day card to, I wanted to use some more generic sentiments that could be used for any occasion.

The thank you on the inside of the card is from Trusty Tools, but you could just as easily change it out for the DAD or the Happy Father's Day stamp from that set.
