SOFTLY SAID FAUX METAL

I'm calling this a bit of a "cheater" card.  Do I look like I cheated?  I did -- just a bit!

During my weekly Learning with Friends videos I demonstrate how to do various techniques.  I focus on the technique and don't typically make a complete card.  As a result, the technique sheets have been accumulating!

Since they are too pretty to throw away I decided I need to start using them.  Today's card was created to feature the Faux Metal Technique, but it needed a pretty background.  This Faux Embossed Patina background was one of my favorites, and I thought it worked well with the Silver Faux Metal sentiment plaque.

To learn how to make Faux Metal, you can watch this Learning with Friends video.

If you missed the Faux Patina video from a year ago, it is also still available on my YouTube Channel.

This is the first time I tried to make a Faux Metal Sentiment Plaque.  The sentiment is from the Softly Said Stamp Set.  If you like large bold sentiments, then this is an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE stamp set that you should check out.  It is only sentiments, and they are large and bold!

Because of the size of the stamp, the Faux Metal Technique required a few extra layers of embossing powder (and a few extra tries), but I was happy how it "eventually" turned out.   ðŸ˜‚

The inside sentiment is from So Sincere, another favorite sentiment set.

To learn more about these stamp sets and see the variation of greetings in each set, click on the product image in the list below, and you will be able to see all the sentiments in each set.

Since I made the Faux Embossed Patina background over a year ago, the Stripes and Splatters embossing folder, and two of the ink colors, Pacific Point and Tahitian Tide, have since retired, but no worries, just substitute products you have.
