Today's card uses two techniques, Watercolor Embossed Vellum and Heat Embossing Glimmer Paper. If you missed these videos on Learning with Friends, watch a replay and learn how to do these techniques to make beautiful cards.
The one "new" thing that I added to the card to make the Embossed Peach Pie Glimmer Paper flower from Gallery Blooms pop a bit was to also create a Night of Navy die cut with the same flower.
I offset the Night of Navy die cut just a bit behind the flower which created a shadow effect. I also die cut a couple of NIght of Navy leaves and added those on each side of the flower.
A Night of Navy glittery bow finished the card front. I tested putting a sentiment in various spots, but every place I tried detracted from the flower and background. So, I added a sentiment on the inside of the card and called it good-to-go.
There were no leftovers used on the inside of the card, but that's OK. I still ended up with a beautiful card with minimal work -- and two less "leftovers" in my box!
Use this link to download a copy of the tutorial. But, I really hope you have been inspired to use YOUR leftovers!
The products I used are listed below. Most of these "leftovers" are still are available.
