A BEAUTIFUL AMBER AUTUMM

I'm taking a little break from Christmas Cards this week.  We are going to embrace the beautiful colors of Autumn.  I know that this time of the year is a favorite for many.  Personally, I love the colors Fall brings but prefer the longer days of sunshine and warmer weather of summer.

So this week, I'm going to try to focus on the pretty fall colors and not the "weather".

My featured product this week is the Amber Autumn Bundle.  It is part of the Autumn Toile Mega Suite from the Fall Mini Catalog.

There is a beautiful die in this bundle that was my driving force for purchasing this bundle.  The die was used to make the colorful leafy background.

I used my blending brushes to color a sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock with random blotches of Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive ink before die cutting it with this great die.

The frame for the leaves was made with the largest Sentimental Framing die and Mossy Meadow cardstock.  It is difficult to appreciate just how awesome these dies are based on the photos, but there is detail galore on the die cut frame!  So pretty!

The sentiment was also die cut with another Sentimental Framing Die.  The lighter cardstock shows the detail a little better, but the "photographer" still didn't do a great job of capturing just how pretty these dies are.

The pumpkin image was colored with Stampin' Blends and die cut with a coordinating Amber Autumn Die

In fact, I did a lot of coloring for this card as I used the same image on the envelope and on the inside of the card.

I think it will make a pretty Thanksgiving card for someone special, don't you?

ELF ON THE SHELF

The Elf is the last of the three little characters included in the Festive Friends set.  Hiding an elf around the house was never one of my traditions, but I do think it is a fun idea so I decided to put the cute little guy on a shelf.  His name is Elfie -- yes, I know.  I'm  SOooo creative!  LOL

I die cut several of these skinny trees from Garden Green and Granny Apple Green cardstock and then placed them on my rustic shelf made from Country Woods designer series paper (DSP).

I have a hint for you when die cutting these trees.  If you want to keep the center trunk with branches in the center of the tree, place a piece of Scotch Tape (or similar) on the back of the cardstock before you die cut the tree.   Of course, if you want the trunk/branches to be a different color, then don't use the tape and they will be free to color or mix and match as you choose.

I'm wondering if I should have hidden Elfie behind the trees a bit.  But he is just too cute to hide.  I did use Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color his elf suit, so he does blend in a little bit, but he is definitely easy to find.

The Exposed Brick wall behind Elfie was given a bit of rustic color by using a Blending Brush with random shading with Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, and Early Espresso ink.  I purposely kept the blending uneven.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS is from Jolly Holly.  The Festive Friends stamp set does include a few sentiments, but I used more sentiments this week from Jolly Holly because they worked better for my personal situation.  Because I make these cards for personal use (and not just to demonstrate ideas for my posts) I want the greetings to work for me.

I added three additional die cut trees to the inside of the card.  This greeting is also from Jolly Holly.

SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN

I have been a collector of all kinds of Santa's for many years.  Ceramic Santas, Metal Santas, Stuffed Santas, and I have enough Santa ornaments so they have their own Christmas tree.  I find it very difficult to pass up a stamp set that includes a cute Santa.  And our Festive Friends Stamp Set is no exception.

I'll admit, some Santa's can be a little scary, but not this cutie.  He's just adorable!  I gave him a Cherry Cobbler Santa Suit and my "Color Coach" suggested I combine Cherry Cobbler with Pool Party and Crumb Cake.  Looks good to me!  What do you think?

This card uses so many of the dies in the Festive Friends Bundle.  Of course there is a coordinating die to cut out Santa, but the Pool Party Tag behind him, the trees, the snowflake and his "Sign" are also all from Festive Friends Dies.

The So Swirly Embossing folder seemed like a great option to provide some "blowing snow" for Santa's Background.

A couple of Old Olive stamped trees and several Pool Party Snowflakes dress up the inside of the card.  The inside sentiment if from Jolly Holly, but you could use any greeting that you have.
