PEACEFUL GARDENS FUN FOLD

Today's card is a fun fold card.  It is a variant of a card that I made recently in Stampin' Up!'s Traditions of Christmas Craft Class.  It is unique because the card base is made completely from Designer Series Paper.  This card uses the Peaceful Gardens Designer Series Paper (DSP).  

My fun fold differs a little from the one we made in the Craft Class as my flap is on the left and theirs was on the right.  So, even when you have an "oops" like I did and score the DSP incorrectly -- it still works!

The flap that you see on the left of the card tucks under the Die Cut focal Point on the card front and holds the card securely closed.

The "right" flap of the card, which the focal point is adhered to is a full card front, so it tucks behind the 2" left flap and then the left flap slips under the focal point which is secured with dimensionals only on it's right side.

The photo above shows the full card front before being tucked behind the left flap.

Thanks to the glimmer paper included in this suite the card has more sparkle and shine than the photos show.  The mat behind the sentiment is Secret Sea Glimmer Paper.  

The sentiment was colored with a Blending Brush and Misty Moonlight ink at an angle in the lower right corner.  This helps to highlight the dove.  If the white dove were placed directly on white cardstock, it would tend to get lost, so bit of Misty Moonlight color behind it helps to highlight the dove.  

The Misty Moonlight Silver Edged Ribbon included in the suite is beautiful!  The ribbon itself has lots of shimmer and the frilly silver edging makes it even more special.  

The Hues of Blue Flowers in the suite include an Ombre of Colors ranging from White to Secret Sea, so there is a perfect shade of blue for any project.

When you open both flaps of the card there is plenty of space for your message layer on the inside.  Alternatively, in the Traditions of Craft Class, they showed the inside of the card as a place to include your family's Christmas photo.  Isn't that a great idea?

My card has Secret Sea Glimmer Paper as its mat layer, and I used the blue glimmer paper from the suite for my dove.  So there is plenty of sparkle & shine on the inside of the card as well.
