Happy Monday! What's great about a new week? Well, a lot of things, but for me it means I get to share new cards with you!
This week I am sharing cards made with the Beautifully Celebrated Bundle. This bundle is part of the Lovely & Beautiful Mega Suite. What's a Mega Suite? Well, typically it refers to a Stampin' Up! Suite Collection that includes two bundles and several other coordinating products, like Designer Series Paper (DSP), embellishments, etc.
The cards this week will focus on Beautifully Celebrated bundle. I may bring in a few of the other products, but my focus will be on the bundle and using it with products that are not from the Suite. I want you to be inspired to use it with products you already own!
Since it is Monday, and I try to keep my Monday cards quick & simple, I focused mainly on the stamp set for today's card. This stamp set has several "foliage" stamps and a few sentiments.
I used the tried-and-true technique of stamping several images around one of the corners to use each of the stamps in the set.
Since I know that the 2024-2026 In-Colors will be retiring in a couple of months, I decided to use those. I really like these In-colors. They are so pretty and, as always, In-Colors always coordinate well together!
The sentiment is from the Beautifully Celebrated stamp set. It is one long stamp, but to fit it on my Beautifully Celebrated die cut, I stamped it in two parts. Photopolymer stamps make it so easy to do that!
I wasn't very happy with my first attempt at this card. As you know "quick & simple" cards are not really my area of expertise, and this card was not coming together for me. I knew I didn't like what I saw, but I was drawing a blank on how to "fix it". So, I looked to a good friend for some ideas. She suggested the black layer behind the stamped image to make it pop, She also thought adding some DSP strips behind the image to add a little more color might help. I found my Unbounded Beauty DSP -- which uses all the 2024-2026 In-Colors -- in my stash, and that definitely was a good call.
But, if I'm honest, I'm still not 100% in love with the card. There is something about the stamping that bothers me, but I don't know what it is. Maybe I should have colored the leaf image so there would be a mix of some solid images and some lined images. What do you think? What would you do to change this card?
I repeated the stamping on the corner of the inside of the card and on the front of the envelope to provide some continuity of design.
