FOR THE LOVE OF DIES

Today's Beautifully Celebrated card shows off the awesome dies that come with this Bundle.  In fact, it was these dies that were the main reason I purchased this bundle.  I always love die sets that have fun and interesting shapes that are designed for layering.

This set has six dies to create layers of the pretty medallion shape die cuts in the center of the card.  These two layers are the 3rd and 4th largest.  There are two that are larger and two more that are smaller than those I used, so the range of sizes is perfect.  The largest nearly covers a card front and the smallest is great for greetings!

And how about the corner die cuts?  I love those!  One die cuts two corner pieces at once!

I chose to use Gold Foil with Blackberry Bliss as my colors.  The card base and top medallion layer are Very Vanilla.  This is such an elegant color combination.  But...  It is so much prettier in person!  These colors are not the easiest to photogragh.  Blackberry Bliss shows as almost black in photos, and the Brushed Gold Foil that I used wants to turn more yellow than it really is.  Even with photo editing, it was difficult to capture the true beauty.

The Old Olive Leaf Stem was colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut.  Sadly, there is not a coordinating die included for this particular leaf in the bundle.  However, in addition to the layering medallion dies and the corner element dies, there are dies included for the little flower and some smaller leaves.

The vellum sentiment and gold lined leaf are from the Beautifully Adorned Ephemera Pack that is available in the Lovely & Beautiful Suite.  Be sure to check out this Ephemera pack more closely in the Product List below.  It has gorgeous gold elements printed on Vellum.  While you still need to be careful when applying adhesive on the vellum, it is nice and heavy, so there is less concern about adhesive showing through.  The pretty Gold & White woven ribbon is also from the Suite.

If you would like to learn some tips and tricks to make this card, watch my video below.  The card in the video is the same design, but it is made with alternative colors.  So hopefully it will provide some added inspiration for you.

I'd love to know which card you like the best.  Blackberry Bliss and Gold, or Night of Navy and silver?

Two more of the corner die cuts from gold foil were added to the inside of the card.  The Happy Birthday Sentiment on the card front is from Banner Sayings, and the inside sentiment is from the Coneflower Celebrations Stamp Set.

THANKSGIVING SWIRLED DESIGN

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, I thought I would see if I could make a card appropriate for the celebration using this week's featured product, the Swirled Designs Bundle.

I decided to use the Diamond Die to create my focal point.  I die cut a diamond from three different patterns of the Gathering Together Designer Series Paper (DSP).  This is one of my favorite Autumn DSP collections in many years.  I love it not only because it has beautiful, foiled patterns of colorful leaves and autumn foliage but also because the reverse side has great subtle patterns that can be combined with the colorful foiled sides.

When I die cut the DSP with the diamond die from Swirled Designs Dies I retained the center portion of the diamond and adhered it in the middle of the "swirly" border of the diamond.

The Early Espresso background is embossed with a Leaf Fall die which provides pretty texture in person but is too dark to show up well in the photos.

The greeting is from Banner Sayings and was heat embossed with white embossing powder on Early Espresso cardstock.

I used the small oval Swirled Design die to cut it twice--once using the center portion of the Early Espresso for the sentiment and the second time from Gold Foil for the swirly border.

A Gold Striped Mesh Bow and some Gold Pearls finish the card front.
