DOUBLE THE ORNAMENTS

Today's card is a slightly unique color combination for a Christmas Card, but I think it is a pretty combination of Misty Moonlight, Petunia Pop, and Basic Beige.

If you are wondering, the leaves on the ornaments were stamped with Basic Beige.  When the "Color Coach" suggested this color combination, I will admit I was skeptical.  But, surprisingly, Basic Beige has a hint of green in it so I really liked it as the leaves.

The sentiment was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Secret Sea cardstock.  Secret Sea, one of the 2025 - 2027 In-Colors, has become one of my go-to colors when I want a neutral, but don't want, brown, gray or black.

The ornament hangers were die cut from Gun Metal Foil which seemed the best choice to give some metallic shine but still remain subtle.

Both Designer Series Paper (DSP) designs used on the card front are from the Peaceful Garden Collection.

A strip of the same DSP as was used in the center of the card front was added to the inside of the card.  The Dove DSP was used on the envelop flap to complete a nice, coordinated card set.

EMBOSSED ORNAMENT SPOTLIGHTED

I'm sure there others that have created cards with this technique, but it was my first time.  I'm definitely going to be doing it again!  It was fun, simple, and creates a WOW!

I first made a mask with the Bauble Bloom Die and used that mask to color the ornament in the center of the top Basic White layer with Blending Brushes.  Next I embossed that cardstock with the Joined Together Embossing Folder.

After embossing I replaced the mask over the ornament and added some additional ink.  This darkened the raised embossed portions of the ornament and really made the pattern from the embossing folder pop!

All I needed to complete the card was the hanger, a snippet of ribbon, a sentiment and few gold pearls.  This technique would be very easy to complete with other simple shape dies and your favorite embossing folder.  How about trying a snowman, a butterfly, a gingerbread man, or even just some circles to create dots!  You will want the shape to be simple so it is easily recognized and the design from the embossing folder becomes the focal point.

Color on the inside was added by White and Garden Green mats.
