AGING LIKE FINE WINE & CHEESE

I have an interesting Pop-Out Fun Fold for you today that I cased from Connie Stewart.  This card definitely steps up the One More Year stamp Set a bit and is definitely adult-like.

With the card fully closed you can see that it will fit easily in a standard size A2 envelope.

I used the third focal point stamp from the set which pairs perfectly with the Aging Like Fine Cheese & Wine greeting.

I colored the wine & cheese image with Stampin' Blends.  For all the coloring details, please refer to the tutorial that you can download at this link.

Now the WOW begins as we start to open the card.

To make the pop-out window I used the Everyday Details Dies.  The inside of the card contains a decorated "mechanism" that pops out the focal point.  Pictures will tell a better story.

Above you can see just a hint of the Calypso Coral mechanism to which the focal point and sentiment are attached.

Open the card a little more and you get a peek of the mechanism that is decorated with Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP).  This is a new DSP collection in the Spring Mini.  If you like plaid paper, you are going to love this collection!

Open the card a bit more and you get the full effect.

The narrow panel to the right of the mechanism doesn't provide enough width for any of the sentiments in One More Year, so I used the vertical HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the So Sincere stamp set.  It works perfectly with this card.

What do you think?  Isn't this a fun pop-out fun fold?  I'd love to know what you think.  I hope you will give it a try.

YOU'RE HOW OLD IN DOG YEARS?

I have another fun birthday card today that was cased from Brandy Cox's challenge for the 2025 Winter Creativate Retreat.  The challenge was to color embossed cardstock.

I thought this funny little dog from the One More Year stamp set looked a little tipsy.  Maybe Bruno (he kind of looks like a Bruno doesn't he?) got into the New Year's Eve champagne.  He certainly is surrounded by lots of bubbles thanks to the Dotted Circles embossing folder.

I wanted this card to be a little more "adult" than "childlike", so I chose colors that I thought would make it suitable for an adult.  Change the colors to primary colors to make it more childlike or choose pastels for a baby card - but maybe nix Bruno for something else.  😊

I colored my bubbles with Azure Afternoon, Crushed Curry and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.  If you try this technique practice on a "bubble" that will be hidden.  The alcohol ink in the Stampin' Blends is apparently really attracted to the embossed cardstock.  Ink the center of the dot and it spreads out almost like magic to the edges.

I used the same color cardstock mats for the inside of my card - Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lime Twist.  Both sentiments are from One More Year.  I separated one of them between the front and the inside by first masking the bottom of the sentiment to have only YOU'RE HOW OLD? on the front, and then masked the top so the inside would continue with "in dog years you'd be..."

Are you liking the cards this week from One More Year?  If so, wait until you see the one for Friday!  I cased a fun fold from another of the Creativate Team, and it is AWESOME!  It's more sophisticated and definitely will be perfect for a couple of my girlfriends!  Don't miss it!

In addition to those listed below, I used the One More Year stamp Set (Item #164777), which at the time of writing this post was not available to include in the list.  As of January 7, it is available for purchase.

ONE MORE YEAR OF CAKE!

This week I am sharing sneak peeks of cards made with the One More Year stamp set.  This stamp set will be available on January 7, 2025, when the January - May Spring Mini Catalog goes live.

I'm trying to choose a greater variety of stamp sets lately.  Like most stampers I tend to be drawn to the same type of sets, and I'm currently totally overrun with flowers.  This stamp set is great for birthdays.  The images are cute, but the greetings in the set make me laugh, and I hope they will make others laugh, too.  Most have "sassy" remarks about getting older.

For this card I did trim the "sass" off from the sentiment on the card front as the full sentiment says HAPPY BIRTHDAY - Another wrinkle wiser.

Am I the only one that sometimes struggles coming up with my first card with a new stamp set?  To get my mojo in gear this week, I decided to use one of the twenty-two sketches on page 12 of the new Mini Catalog.

I chose this sketch because I liked the combination of the different shapes.  It also let me use one of my favorite Designer Series Paper (DSP) Collections called Full of Life.  I love the colors and the variety of geometric shapes in this DSP, and I think it is perfect for gender neutral birthday cards!

A little strip of the DSP and one of the "sassy" sentiments finished off the inside of the card.

If your Mojo is missing, sketches are a great way to get started.  The current 24-25 Annual Catalog also includes several sketches.  These sketches are one of the new additions made to our catalogs that I love.  Be sure to check them out.

Don't have a catalog orStampin' Up! demonstrator?  Drop me an email, and I would be happy to send you a catalog and hopefully make you a happy customer!

Do you need a "cute" stamp set?  The One More Year stamp set item # is 164777.
