LOVELY & BEAUTIFUL - TEMPLATE TIME

On Monday I made a very geometric, contemporary card with my Sketch #8.  Today's card has a very different vibe and is for the flower lovers!

The card still uses the same sketch.  I just turned it to the Portrait Orientation.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used for the Triangles and a couple of the flower layers is from the gorgeous Lovely & Beautiful DSP collection.  

It is so sad, but this beautiful Suite of Products is on the Last Chance List.  However, the gorgeous Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series paper seems to have escaped "retirement" for now.  At the writing of this post it was not on the Last Chance List.

NOTE:  Last Chance Products are only available while supplies last.  Once gone, they are gone forever!

I had a difficult time deciding which of the pretty Lovely & Beautiful designs to use for my triangles, but the large "gilded" flowers are so pretty, so that's what I ultimately chose.  I paired it with a Petal Pink Card base, and a large flower in Calypso Coral.

A gold die cut Pistil for the flower center and Pearlized Faceted Gems add a little more bling!

For the inside of the card I used sentiments from the Beautifully Celebrated Stamp Set and a fairly old favorite, Happy Labels.  A DSP strip across the top adds a bit of color and coordinates the inside of the card with the card front.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL FUN FOLD

Today I have a very easy Fun Fold to share with you using the Simply Beautiful Bundle.  I cased this fun fold from a video I saw on YouTube by Alisa Tilsner.  Her card was a little different size, so I changed up the dimensions a bit to make is a standard A2 card size (finished size 5-1/2" x 4-1/4").


The above photo shows the card slightly open, and you can see that there are three separate panels.  

I'm not sure how well is shows in the photo, but since I made the card base with Fresh Freesia Two-Tone Cardstock the front panel is a slightly lighter shade of Fresh Freesia, and the other two panels are darker Fresh Freesia.

Here's what the fun fold looks like when fully closed.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is the Lovely & Beautiful DSP.


The floral bouquet is attached to only the first far left (top) panel.  The large and small flower were made completely with die cuts from the Simply Beautiful Dies.  The centers were colored with a Blending Brush and Fresh Freesia ink, but there was no stamping involved.

The leaves were stamped and also colored a bit with Old Olive Ink and a Blending Brush.  Below is a closer look.


Since the left panel is relatively narrow, I die cut a "mounting" surface for the bouquet using the largest Nested Essentials rectangle die.

Open the bouquet panel and the second middle panel is revealed.  Isn't that DSP beautiful?


Since I didn't have a great spot to attach a greeting on the front, I added it to the middle panel.  I also like that it gave that panel a "purpose".  

The sentiment is from the Simply Beautiful stamp set.


Since the right side of this third layer shows when the card is closed I am going to have to remember to stay close to the left side when I write my message.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

This week I am featuring the SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL BUNDLE.  This is the second bundle in the Lovely & Beautiful Suite Collection.  

Today's card uses the large flower and leaves.


The Textured Notes dies were used to die cut my background for the flower.  Each of these rectangle layering dies creates a unique border on the die cut.  These awesome dies are on the Last Chance list at a discounted price.  They are currently showing as "unavailable", however they are scheduled to be back in stock the week of March 2, so they aren't gone forever -- yet. 


Two strips of embossed Basic White were added behind the flower to add a bit of texture.

I wanted this card to have a very "soft" feel, so I stamped all images in Basic Gray ink rather than black.  A bit of color was added to the center of the flower and leaves using Sponge Daubers.  To stay with the soft feel of the card, I used Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam ink. 


All of these floral images have coordinating dies, so cutting them out is quick and easy.



For the inside of the card, I used some of the smaller floral images in the set.  The leaves are stamped directly on the Basic White Cardstock, and the flower was stamped on a scrap and die cut.  Rather than stamping the flower first and then masking it to stamp the leaves around it, I decided to die cut the flower. This let me easily lay it over the leaves without having to create a mask.

Both sentiments used on this card are from the Paper Tags stamp set which is also on the Last Chance List at 50% off!
