THE STOCKINGS ARE HUNG!

Do you have any Christmas Decorations put out yet?  Are you a "start early" sort of person or a "never before Thanksgiving" sort of person?

Well, my stockings are hung -- at least on today's card.  This was a layout that we created during Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Stamping in our Fall Creativate Retreat about a month ago.

When Sharon provided us with the first clue, the outcome of this card was definitely a mystery!  In the first clue only the basic material requirements like colored cardstock, white cardstock, designer paper and the cutting dimensions of each piece of paper are provided. We choose our own colors, designer paper, stamps, embellishments, etc.  After reading the first clue I was definitely clueless as to where this card was going.  Let's just say the "sizes" of each piece were "weird" and gave no clue about how this project was going to go together.  But as we progressed through the clues, it started to make a little sense, and I absolutely love this fold.

The flap with the Christmas lights and the focal point opens to the right, and the narrow flap with the Pool Party plaid opens to the left.

I had chosen to use the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle and the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper for my Mystery Card and was really glad I did.  Other times when I've participated in Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Stamping, the stamp set I had selected to use did not work well at all with the card design.  But that wasn't the case with this one.  These two little stockings fit perfectly on the front panel, and I was able to use a lot of the little stamps and dies to stuff those stockings.  I even added a bit of holly in the upper left corner because that corner felt neglected when I was finished.

What do you think?  Do you like how the mystery was solved?

For the inside of the card, I just added a couple of packages that wouldn't fit in my stockings, and then I added two sentiments from the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set.

As I mentioned earlier this week, this Suite is definitely at the top of my favorites list in the Fall Mini Catalog!
