HIPPITY HOP, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY

My little friend Hip Hop is stopping by today with some flowers for your birthday!  Is it your birthday?  If not, consider them "Just Because" flowers.

He has Daisies and Daffodils for you from the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper.  This is one of the Sale-a-Bration FREEBIEs that you can select when you place a $50 order.

I saw a layout something like this somewhere, but when I went back to find it, hoping there would be a tutorial, do you think I could find it again?  Nope, I couldn't find it again.  My memory told me the one I had seen had more vertical panels, but this was all I could fit on my Scalloped Contours Die background without making each panel so narrow that I couldn't show off the pretty flowers.  And Hip Hop insisted that he wanted to show off his flowers!

I think it is an interesting layout.  Hopefully, I did the original creator of the design justice.

If you would like to try this layout, I have a Free Tutorial that you can download with all my cutting dimensions--so you won't have to figure them out for yourself -- unless of course you have a different size background or want more panels.

As I stated, I used the largest die from the Scalloped Contours Dies.  I embossed the cardstock with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder before I die cut it.  I wasn't sure how the open scallops would hold up to embossing if they were already cut, so I embossed first.

The card base is made with Thick Very Vanilla, as is the Scalloped Die Cut.  The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from the Special Moments Stamp Set, which is another Sale-a-Bration item that is available with a $100 purchase.  I love this Sale-a-Bration Sentiment set.  (I do have a weakness for sentiment sets)  It has great versatility with twenty-one different sentiments!

For the inside of the card, I used two additional sentiments from Special Moments.  Hip Hop thought combining these two sentiments was a little sassy, and he loves to be sassy!

To add a little more pizzaz on the inside, I added a strip of the Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper and matted it with Basic Black.

So, while I'm not really sure how well I did "CASEing" the "lost" idea, I'm happy with how the card turned out, and more importantly Hip Hop is happy that he got to deliver you some flowers today.

For a list of all the products I used, please refer to the information below, and don't forget to download the FREE TUTORIAL.
