PIGGY GOES FOR A WAGON RIDE

It's a new week and that means I have a new Stamp Set to share with you all week.  The This Birthday Piggy stamp set is a new set from the 2022-23 Annual catalog, and for this month only -- while supplies last-- Stampin' Up! has made coordinating Playful Piggy Dies available as part of a special promotion called "Perfect Partners".  I had The Birthday Piggy stamp set on my wish list for a few months now, but when the coordinating dies became available, I knew it was time to get the bundle.  Besides, when we purchase a Bundle, we save 10%!

I was most excited to use the little wagon die, so I'm using that on my first card this week.  The wagon is die cut from a red plaid pattern from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and Stampin' Up! provided separate dies to cut wheels and the handle, so I could cover them with Basic Black die cuts!  So smart!  I love how Stampin' Up! thinks of ways to make things easier.

Today's card also features some additional non-Piggy dies.  The Split Card Textures Die provides the interesting background die cut from Night of Navy.  Behind the die I have used a design from Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to create a sky background.

The Basic White cardstock behind the wagon was created with two additional die sets.  My favorite Stylish Shapes Dies and the Stitched with Whimsy dies were used to create the background.  I laid the Stitched with Whimsy Die inside the largest Stylish Shapes Square die and ran them through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine at the same time.  It was very easy to keep them aligned by having one laying inside the other!  The "WEEEE!" sentiment was also cut out with the smallest flag die from Stylish Shapes Dies.

For the ribbon I used up some retired Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon that I had been hoarding.  I wanted a ribbon that didn't look too heavy and overpowering but added a little whimsy.  So, I finally decided to use up the last of one of my favorite ribbons.

Before I put Piggy in his little red wagon, I had snipped off the cake because he looked like he was going to dive in and eat it before I could deliver it to my Birthday Card recipient.   But I thought maybe if I hid it on the inside of the card, it would be out of his sight and hopefully out of his mind and stay safe.

I hope you like today's whimsical card.  It's hard not to smile when you look at the images in This Birthday Piggy stamp set, and I hope it will make someone else smile when they receive it in the mail!
