SO REFRESHING FOR SIMPLY MONDAY

This week I will share projects made with the So Refreshing Bundle.  How many of you enjoy a nice ice-cold glass of lemonade on a sizzling summer day?

My personal favorite is pink lemonade.  So, today I made a pitcher of Flirty Flamingo Lemonade just for you.

The blanket for our picnic was woven from the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper and it was easily die cut with the fun die from So Refreshing Dies.

I even brought a bouquet of coordinating Flirty Flamingo flowers for our picnic.  Aren't they pretty?

A bit of stitched whimsy was added to the background with a Stitched with Whimsy die before a hint of blue sky was added with a Blending Brush and Boho Blue ink.

This card may look like it has lots of details for a Simply Monday card, but as long as you have a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (or another die cutting machine), it is an amazingly easy card to put together.  The two-step stamps in the So Refreshing stamp set make creating these images simple.

For the inside of the card, I simply added a strip of Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper (DSP) matted to a strip of Petal Pink.  And the good news is that during June this beautiful ON-LINE Exclusive DSP is on sale for 15% off.

There is no simpler way to decorate the inside of a card or an envelope flap than to add a bit of DSP!

PIGGY GOES FOR A WAGON RIDE

It's a new week and that means I have a new Stamp Set to share with you all week.  The This Birthday Piggy stamp set is a new set from the 2022-23 Annual catalog, and for this month only -- while supplies last-- Stampin' Up! has made coordinating Playful Piggy Dies available as part of a special promotion called "Perfect Partners".  I had The Birthday Piggy stamp set on my wish list for a few months now, but when the coordinating dies became available, I knew it was time to get the bundle.  Besides, when we purchase a Bundle, we save 10%!

I was most excited to use the little wagon die, so I'm using that on my first card this week.  The wagon is die cut from a red plaid pattern from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and Stampin' Up! provided separate dies to cut wheels and the handle, so I could cover them with Basic Black die cuts!  So smart!  I love how Stampin' Up! thinks of ways to make things easier.

Today's card also features some additional non-Piggy dies.  The Split Card Textures Die provides the interesting background die cut from Night of Navy.  Behind the die I have used a design from Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to create a sky background.

The Basic White cardstock behind the wagon was created with two additional die sets.  My favorite Stylish Shapes Dies and the Stitched with Whimsy dies were used to create the background.  I laid the Stitched with Whimsy Die inside the largest Stylish Shapes Square die and ran them through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine at the same time.  It was very easy to keep them aligned by having one laying inside the other!  The "WEEEE!" sentiment was also cut out with the smallest flag die from Stylish Shapes Dies.

For the ribbon I used up some retired Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon that I had been hoarding.  I wanted a ribbon that didn't look too heavy and overpowering but added a little whimsy.  So, I finally decided to use up the last of one of my favorite ribbons.

Before I put Piggy in his little red wagon, I had snipped off the cake because he looked like he was going to dive in and eat it before I could deliver it to my Birthday Card recipient.   But I thought maybe if I hid it on the inside of the card, it would be out of his sight and hopefully out of his mind and stay safe.

I hope you like today's whimsical card.  It's hard not to smile when you look at the images in This Birthday Piggy stamp set, and I hope it will make someone else smile when they receive it in the mail!

LOVE COMES IN ALL SIZES

Does love really come in all shapes and sizes?  Think about the people, animals, and things that you love, and I think that you would have to agree that yes, love does come in all shapes and sizes.

And if you still doubt it -- well, here is a card that says it does.  So, it must be true!

After I got side-tracked a bit yesterday with the Here Together Bundle, I'm back today to finish off the week with another card using the Count on Me stamp set.

The more I have used this set this week, the more I have fallen in love with it.  The little animals are all so cute, and if, like me, you like to color than what could be better than cute animals that I get to color.

Today, I would like to introduce you to Frosty, Kiwi and Gwen.  I decided to name the Polar Bear, Frosty because he reminds me of Frosty the Snowman -- or maybe that is just because as I sit here making this card, all I see outside is white stuff everywhere!  Well, except for the colorful ice shanties with crazy people sitting in them out there in the freezing cold trying to catch fish.  Don't they know there are fish in the store -- or maybe that "shelf" is empty.  Anyway, I digress...

Kiwi is the little bird keeping his eye on Frosty.  He's not so sure what a Polar Bear is as they don't live where he does.

I wasn't really sure what a Kiwi bird is or what color it is, so like with anything else we don't know these days -- we Google it!  Right?  I found lots of pictures of little brown birds that supposedly can't fly, and they live in New Zealand.

One interesting thing I learned is that the kiwi's egg is one of the largest in proportion to its body size of any species of bird in the world.  It can be up to 20% of the female's weight!  Think about that for a minute.

Well, I didn't really want a little brown bird on my card, so I kept looking and found that there are some extremely rare white kiwi birds.  That sounded better for my card, so I made Kiwi white.  He was very happy about that, too, as he didn't want to look like all the other Kiwi birds.

Actually, he's also happy that he's a "he" and doesn't have to "birth" eggs that are 20% of his weight!  That little piece of trivia is now stuck in my head thinking about giving birth to a baby that is 20% of my weight!  Again, I digress...

Gwen, of course, is the cute little penguin.  I'm not sure why she is in the sky because Penguin's can't fly either, (Google told me) so I guess the balloon is helping her fly.  But she sees the pond and is quickly heading there before the balloon pops.  Gwen says she would much rather be swimming and isn't happy with me for making her "fly".

It looks like there must have been another critter there before these three arrived because he left his tracks around the area.  Do you see them?  Maybe he's hiding on the inside of the card.

Sure enough, it's Gwen's friend Pen.  Pen says he likes to fly and wishes that he had larger wings so he could fly without the help of the silly pink balloon.  He thinks he should at least have been given a blue balloon--or maybe a few balloons in case one pops!

I hope you have enjoyed meeting Frosty, Kiwi, Gwen, and Pen today.  They also believe that love comes in all shapes and sizes, and they told me to tell you that they particularly love Stampers -- who also come in all shapes and sizes!

Happy Friday my Stampin' Friends!  Enjoy your weekend.
