ANGLED AUTUMNAL TRIFOLD

Today's card would make a great card for a special man in your life that may need a little encouragement.

I have had my eye on this bundle for a while but since I don't make a lot of masculine cards, it wasn't at the top of my list.  It is the Grassy Grove Bundle and most of the cards I've seen use the large covered woodland die that is included in the bundle.  However, I was in the mood for a fun fold card today, and that die cut just didn't fit!

I like this particular fun-fold and it is much easier than it looks.  I had avoided it for a long time because the angles made me nervous, but I worried all for nothing.

It is a great Fun Fold to use coordinating designer series paper on each flap, but I decided to just use a couple of different woodland related embossing folders to provide my texture and interest.  I wanted the focus to be on my cute deer and his surroundings, so a solid background better achieved that.

The Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder, and the Cajun Craze cardstock was embossed with the Timer 3D Embossing Folder.

The Pine Trees are stamped with Evening Evergreen on Very Vanilla.  The deer is stamped with Soft Suede also on Very Vanilla, and the grass is stamped with Soft Succulent on Soft Succulent cardstock.  All are die cut with coordinating dies from Grove Dies.

The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments, and I love how this bundle has dies that coordinate will all the sentiments.  Faith over Fear is one of my favorite sentiments from this set.  There are many times in life when our fear seems to take over, and for me, leaning on my faith is how I get through those times.

I have left the inside of the card sentiment free as this just seems like a card that will be better served with a personal note written on the inside.  But in keeping with my mantra, that doesn't mean the inside is not decorated.

A couple of Evening Evergreen Trees added just the touch it needed.

I hope you have enjoyed the Autumn cards this week.  Now that I have finally inked up this Grassy Grove bundle, I suspect you haven't seen the end of it.  I have visions of Christmas cards in my head!

If you would like a tutorial for today's card, you can download a copy by using this link.  The tutorial includes a diagram for how to cut and score the fancy fold.  I hope you will try it.  I promise, it is a lot easier than you probably think.

  1. Very cool! I've been wanting to try this fold for a while but was daunted, happy to have the measurements now to give it a shot! :)
