PEACE & GOOD WILL TO ALL

I am having so much fun this week making cards with the Merriest Moments Stamp Set and Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.

This set makes creating very elegant cards easy.

The colors of today's card are Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride.  The large center leafy die cut was cut and embossed with the Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Hybrid Embossing Folders are made so that you can cut and emboss in one step, but I'll be honest, I found it easier to die cut first and then put the die cut into the embossing folder and emboss.

This photo doesn't really capture the beauty of this card.  The center leafy die cut is made from Pearlescent Specialty Paper and the subtle shimmer that it provides is truly elegant without being overdone.

The texture that the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder provides is just beautiful.  I adhered the die cut only in the rectangular center area, so the leaves are free to lift as they desire providing additional texture and dimension.

The bit of Blushing Bride color is provided by the three-layer poinsettia on the upper left, some Blushing Bride berries in the lower right and two tiny poinsettias die cut from Rose Gold Specialty Paper.  A bit of Wink of Stella was added to the petals of the Poinsettia to create continuous pallet of shimmer with the Pearlescent Paper.

Each flower center and the three berries are also embellished with Opal Rounds to provide a bit more sparkle.

The "Peace on earth good will to all" sentiment is from the Hope & Peace stamp set and is heat embossed in gold on Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  The Shaded Spruce leaves are also stamped on Pearlescent Paper.  If you are stamping on this beautiful paper, be sure to allow extra time for the ink to dry before handling it.

To decorate the inside of the card I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and then stamped a Blushing Bride Poinsettia and added a die cut center from Rose Gold Specialty paper.  The berries are also stamped with Blushing Bride and the holly leaves with Shaded Spruce.

This card is prettier in person than the photos depict.  I can't wait to send it to someone special this Christmas.
