FOREVER FERN SYMPATHY CARD

Sympathy cards are always difficult cards to make, and it is even worse if you need one unexpectedly and don't have one.  As a result, I always try to keep a few Sympathy cards on hand, and it is time to restock my stash.  So, I thought I would use the Forever Fern Stamp Set and its coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies to add to my supply.

For today's card, I used the soft color combination of Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent with just a little pop of Evening Evergreen to make today's card.

The first step was to use my Blending Brush to add some Pale Papaya ink to the upper left half of the Very Vanilla cardstock.  A few black speckles were added with the stamp from Forever Fern.

After that, it was mainly just a matter of creating several die cuts with the Forever Flourishing Dies.  I used Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Gold Foil for my stems and then stamped some Pale Papaya berries to layer over the stems.

The finishing touch is a faux bow made with Soft Succulent Ribbon and Gold Cording from Simply Elegant Trim.  To make a faux bow, just weave it back and forth a couple of times and then tie it in the center with the gold cord.  Tie a big floppy bow with the gold cord to hold it all together.

The sympathy sentiment is from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and was die cut with a die from Stylish Shapes Dies.

The inside of the card was kept clean and simple, but definitely not "naked".  No naked insides or envelopes is my mantra!

I simply layered two colored mats, Evening Evergreen, and Pale Papaya, and then stamped a Black Memento sentiment using an old, retired stamp set.

I do love using stamp sets like Forever Fern to decorate my envelopes because just stamping different stems in assorted colors across the flap is so quick and easy, but it also creates a pretty WOW!  You can see a portion of my envelop flap peeking out from behind the card.  Do you use this "technique" to decorate your envelopes?
