SWEET LITTLE ELEPHANT

It's Monday, and that means it is time for a new featured bundle of the week.  This week I am using the adorable Elephant Parade Bundle.  These little elephants are so cute!

Today's little cutie was inspired by the Polka Dot Elephant who was on the Island of Mis-Fit toys in Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.  I used one of the designs from the Sale-A-Bration Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper (DSP) to paper-piece the little guy.  This DSP is available for free with a $100 order.  The collection includes 48 - 12" x 12" doubled-sided sheets!  The colors are all soft and pretty and I thought they were appropriate for a baby card.

If you are a scrapbooker, they would also be wonderful for a Baby Scrapbook. Join me each Saturday here for my Saturday Scrapbooking series as I take you through Grandma’s First Year scrapbook.

If you are not familiar with the Paper Piecing Technique used on this card, you can watch my Connect to Create video that I shared a few weeks ago demonstrating how to do Paper Piecing.

I the large bed of leaves stamp in the Elephant Parade stamp set.  It can be used to create a canopy over the elephants' heads or, as I did on this card, to give them a lovely place to sit.

This is one of my go-to-layouts.  I like the different shapes and it is a great layout to show off different DSP designs.

If you would like a tutorial with all the cutting dimensions to make the layout, use this link to download a FREE copy.

For the inside I just used another strip of the Polka Dot print from the Dandy Designs DSP to decorate it.

The sentiment was stamped in Fresh Freesia and the completed assembly was layered on a Fresh Freesia mat before adhering to the inside of the Smokey Slate card base.
