CHEERFUL BIRTHDAY DAISIES FOR THE ANNUAL CATALOG BLOG HOP

The colors on today's card make me happy!  So, I hope it brings some Birthday Cheer to someone special.

We don't typically think of daisies as elegant flowers, but I think the Bubble Bath background cut with the largest die from Scalloped Contours Dies adds a bit of elegance, don't you? The cut-out scallops remind me of lace.

Some Berry Burst ink was first added to the white background with a Blending Brush and then embossed with the cross-hatched Basics embossing folder.  These Basics embossing folders are an On-Line Exclusive item and they come in a pack of three.  LOVE THEM!  They add just a little bit of subtle texture.

After embossing the Basic White background, I used my Early Espresso and Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Markers to spatter some ink for speckles.  You could easily use any color ink of your choice to create your speckles.  I made the speckles by using the cap of the marker and flicking the edge of the cap across brush end of the marker.  Flick the cap towards you and not away from you or the ink will splatter in your face!  LOL

The daisies and leaves were stamped and then quickly and easily die cut with the coordinating dies from Cheerful Daisies Dies.  For more details on the ink colors used for the two-step stamping, please refer to the free tutorial available at this link.

Sometimes I have trouble aligning two-step stamps and often prefer the ones that are designed to not be aligned precisely.  But I found these two-step Cheerful Daisy stamps extremely easy to align so that made stamping them fun!  A light coating of Clear Wink of Stella adds a little sparkle on the petals.

To decorate the inside of the card, I simply stamped another daisy and added this sentiment from the Happy Labels stamp set.  I have been using this particular sentiment so much, that I hope I don't wear it out!

I'm also participating in the New Catalog Blog Hop today, so now it is your opportunity to hop along with the Crafty Collaborations team and see all the ideas and projects these talented stampers have shared from the new 2023-2025 Annual Catalog.
