The featured bundle for this week is Love for You. What first caught my eye about this bundle was the die cut words. I love that once they are die-cut, each word is separate and can be used in a variety of ways. I also love that they have "bubble" backgrounds for each detail. Those background "bubbles" make it so much easier to attach the words to your card.
The rainbow background on today's card was created using one of the dies from Stylish Shapes Dies. I simply cut one in each color of the rainbow and adhered them to a scrap of cardstock.
I decided to use only the "Love you" words. They were die cut from Basic Black and adhered to Basic White "bubbles". Don't the bubbles make the words pop?
The Basic White cardstock panels were both embossed with the crosshatch embossing folder from the On-Line Exclusive Basic 3D Embossing Folders. To add just a little bit of visual interest, I used the embossed side for the bottom layer and the debossed side for the top layer behind the "rainbow".
The flowers were stamped with the colors from the rainbow. I used the colors from the top of the rainbow so that they would stand out on the darker blues and purples at the bottom of the rainbow.
Obviously, you can use any colors you like for a rainbow, but if you are wondering which specific colors I used, please refer to the tutorial available at this link.
To decorate the inside of the card, I simply stamped a few more flowers in a rainbow of colors.
This card may look a little "complicated" for a "SIMPLY MONDAY" card, but in actuality it was much quicker and easier than it looks. The Love for You and Stylish Shapes dies make the work easy.
For a complete list of the products I used, please refer to the list below. Don't let the lengthy list scare you off. The die cut rainbow pieces can be cut from small scraps in colors you already have.
Remember, if at any time you have questions on the products or the steps to make one of my cards, please leave me a comment or drop me an email. I am here to help!
