A PATH THROUGH THE MEADOW

Let's take a walk through a Magical Meadow this week.  I will use products from the Winter Meadow Suite.  The stamps and dies in the Magical Meadow Bundle are so versatile that, as you will see this week, you can make cards for any season -- not just Winter.

Today's card looks more like Spring or Summer, doesn't it?  But the sentiment reminds us that colder weather is on its way.

I am drawn to abstract art and graphical shapes and images, so it isn't surprising that I frequently use variations of this diagonal layout.

I used masking paper to cover a diagonal area on the Basic White cardstock and then I stamped various images from the Magical Meadow stamp set on each side of the masked area.  Colors used were Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Moody Mauve.  To further vary the colors, I stamped the images with both full-strength ink and stamped-off ink.

The diagonal strip was made with designer series paper (DSP) from the Winter Meadow Collection and edged by a Pretty Peacock mat.  One side of the 12" x 12" Winter Meadow DSP has beautiful images, and the opposite sides look like they have been water colored.  Click on the image in the Product List below to learn more about this beautiful paper.

The sentiment on the diagonal is also from the Magical Meadow stamp set and was cut with a Stylish Shapes die and its Moody Mauve mat with a Deckled Circle die.  A few 23-25 Moody Mauve In-Color Dots give the card a bit a sparkle.

This card is quick and simple to make, and the layout is easily adaptable to many stamp sets.  While I would love to have you order the bundle from me, I'm also a strong believer in using what you have.

For a tutorial with all the dimensions and step-by-step instructions, use this link to download a free copy.  I hope you will use this layout to make your own card with products you already own.  If you do, please leave me a comment, and let me know which stamp set you used.

Stamps like these in the Magical Meadow stamp set are fun to use to decorate the inside of a card.  There are so many different ways you can use them -- along one side, along the top, along the bottom, or do like I did; stamp them in a corner.
