GARDEN MEADOW BOKEH

My card today uses more stamps and dies from the Garden Meadow Bundle which I am featuring all this week.

This stamp set not only has a variety of beautiful images that all come with coordinating dies, but it also includes a useful selection of sentiments.

The stamped and die cut images on today's card were kept small and simple because I did not want to "hide" the special Bokeh background on this card.  I shared a video on my Learning with Friends series last week showing how to do this fun Technique.  If you missed it, you can always watch the replay on my YouTube Channel.

This technique is simple and doesn't require a lot of special materials.  The backgrounds you create can be as varied as your imagination just by choosing different color inks.

For my background today, I chose the autumnal colors of Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie.  But I honestly don't think the card looks very autumn-like.  Maybe because there isn't a pile of leaves on the ground like there is in my yard!

When I create technique sheets that I use for card backgrounds, I tend to make them larger than my desired finished size.  I do this for a couple of reasons:  1) I probably don't know what "desired" size I want, and 2) I may get lucky and have some scraps left to decorate the inside of the card.

For today's card, I didn't end up have much scrap.  Just a tiny strip long enough to run along one side of the card for a little color.  So, I decided I needed to balance that narrow strip with a basket of flowers in the corner.

One little technique hint I have for you...  when you add an image like this flower basket, always add a little color below the image so that the image is grounded.  If you just stamp the basket without giving it a "little perch", it can look like it is floating in space.  It's so quick and easy to just take your Stampin' Blend and scribble a little color below it!

Use this link to download a copy of the tutorial for today's card.  The tutorial will also include a link to the Bokeh Technique Video so you will always be able to easily reference that in the future.

A list of the products I used for today's card is shown below.  This new Meandering Meadow Suite is now available for purchase.  Hopefully, it hasn't already sold out as I do predict that this is going to be very popular.
