I'm a big fan of all kinds of tools! Sometimes I think I might like to collect them more than I like to use them. Particularly tools of the cooking variety. But I do love my stamping tools. Most of those are very well used. Although I do have to admit there have been a few that I purchased because "I couldn't live without them", but they never left their original packaging.
I designed this card with someone special in mind. She has just purchased her first home and so I thought she needed some "tools". The color combination is definitely one I have never used before, but mauves, greens and yellows are her choice of colors for her new home, so I thought I'd try to combine them and see how they looked. I found this sentiment in the new Everyday Details Bundle that will be available on January 4, 2024. I thought it was perfect for someone entering the journey of homeownership for the first time.
This Trusty Tools Bundle has so many unique stamps and dies. It allows you to mix and match pieces and make whatever color tools you want!
I also used silver foil here and there in places that are typically metal on each of the tools, for example the drill chuck and the metal piece on the paint brush handles. If you want to stamp on foil, just be sure to use Stazon ink -- and try not to slip & slide!
The inside of the card is where the fun begins. The Gray Granite mechanism allows the two center panels to pop out when the card is folded.
This is an extremely easy fun fold, and I think the real fun is in decorating each of the 4 panels. I originally got so carried away that I forgot to leave one of them "undecorated", and so had nowhere to stamp a sentiment or write a message.
On my first panel I have a tape measure and some nuts and bolts. The second panel has a hammer and a crescent wrench.
