Today as we remember those that sacrificed so much for our freedom, I thought it would be appropriate to share a card for them.
I'm calling today's card a SIP card (stamps, ink & paper) although technically it isn't because I did emboss the Real Red cardstock on the background, and I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies, but for me it is close to SIP. Of course, in honor of Memorial Day, the colors are Red, White and Blue.
The flowers were all stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then colored with Stampin' Blends which are alcohol markers.
When coloring with Alcohol Markers you need to stamp the images you plan to color with an ink like Memento. Other dye inks or Stazon inks can bleed when coloring with alcohol makers.
After coloring my daisies I used a Blending Brush to add some Balmy Blue ink around them to create a sky. To keep the Balmy Blue color off from the flowers, I did create a couple of masks to cover the flowers.
The sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Happy Labels, but I wanted to use it as I thought it was such an appropriate sentiment to use in remembrance of those we've loved and lost.

I could have added flowers to the inside of the card but decided to keep it clean and simple by just using the red, white and blue colors.
