This week I will be featuring the Rustic Crate Stamp Set & Dies. This is a fun set that I have had for quite a while and have used often. Initially, I had it in my head that I always needed to use the "Crate" on every card, but recently I started trying to think outside of my own "box" and find ways to make cards without the crate.
Today's card is one of those.
A month or so ago a friend generously gifted me with some of the bounty from her herb garden. It was suggested that I tie the herbs together and hang them upside down to let them dry!
That was my inspiration for today's card.
I thought the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) paired well with the herbs in this stamp, so I used that for my background. Then chose colors (well most of them) from that paper to color my herbs with Stampin' Blends. The colors of my herbs from left to right are Blackberry Bliss, Shy Shamrock (not in the paper, but WOW it coordinates well), Fresh Freesia and Lost Lagoon.
If you would like a tutorial for today's card you can use this link to download a copy.
To add a pop of color to the inside of the card I just used a couple of strips of the same DSP as I used for the front.
The products I used are listed below. I believe the ribbon is retired, but it worked, and I'm a huge proponent of using embellishments that you have.
Such a great idea to stamp the herbs as if they're hanging to dry! Lovely card. :-) -Alicia
ReplyDeleteThank you! I wish I could say all of my ideas are "originals", but when my friend suggested I hang the fresh herbs she had given me so they would dry, she triggered the idea!
