FLYING REINDEER ON THE DIAGONAL

Today I am using one of my favorite card layouts for my Reindeer Fun card.

There is something about putting a piece of cardstock or designer series paper on the diagonal and then adding a focal point in any shape over it that appeals to me.  Just remember, if the designer series paper you are using is directional, be sure to take that into account when you cut it.  You wouldn't want your trees to be falling over!   ðŸ˜€

The circle focal point on today's card was made with the Spotlight on Nature dies and the "flying" reindeer was die cut from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper (DSP) with one of the coordinating dies from Reindeer Fun.

Don't you just love it when you have dies that cut out images on DSP?  While I do enjoy stamping and coloring images, die cutting images that are already beautifully and expertly colored is just such a time-saver.

The plaid embossed background was made with the Forever Plaid embossing Folder.  This embossing folder is another product included in the Reindeer Days Suite.  This one is definitely going to get a lot of use.

One hint when using it.  Take an extra bit of care when putting your cardstock in the embossing folder because "crooked" plaid doesn't look so great -- unless it is a LOT crooked.  In other words, make it look like it is either "crooked" on purpose -- or make it straight!  I learned this the hard way.

Another fun product in this Reindeer Days Suite is the Peppermint Adhesive-Backed Dots.  Aren't they cute?  I love them.  They add a bit a whimsy to any card.

Since the card front was one of my go-to layouts, I opted to use another go-to for the inside.  Matting a strip of the designer series paper with cardstock is one of my regular defaults.  When something works, just use it!
