A WHITE CHRISTMAS

Are you dreaming of a White Christmas?  I guess I still like to wake up to a beautiful white Christmas Morning -- but if it is all melted by the next day -- that's OK, too.

This week I am featuring the Sentimental Wishes Christmas Bundle, and I think the whole "Dreaming of a White Christmas" thing is probably more "sentimental" now than anything else.

I grew up in northern lower Michigan and a White Christmas was just our reality -- not a dream.  We always had plenty of snow by Christmas.  Here in southeast Michigan -- not so much.

But today, let's get a little sentimental and dream of a "White Christmas" -- an all-white Christmas Card that is.

Recently I participated in the Creativate Fall Retreat and one of the weekly challenges by Brandy Cox was to make an all-white card.  This was my version of her challenge.

It is made with lots and lots of layers of white cardstock.  I used the candle image from Sentimental Wishes as my focal point.

I stamped the image, colored it with my Stampin' Blends and then die cut it with a coordinating Sentimental Wishes die.  This was the first time I inked up the candles from this set.  They just seemed so small that I wasn't sure how to use them, but I love how they give just a little pop of color to my all-white card.

I think one of Brandy's signature styles is to wrap the ends of a sentiment strip behind the focal point.  This was the first time I had tried that and really like the end result.  I now understand why she does it.   The ends only of the sentiment strip are adhered to the back of the cardstock which it is wrapped around.  This results in a pretty domed shape on the card front.  The photo doesn't really show it well, but in person it definitely adds a bit of unexpected interest to the card.

I love decorating the inside of my cards, but Brandy takes "decorating the inside" to a whole different level.  This challenge really steps up the WOW on the inside of the card!  Isn't it pretty with the embossed and multiple layers on the left side?

What do you think?  I think I'm going to be CASING more Brandy Cox cards!

Here is a link to my tutorial for this card.
