COLORFUL GOLDEN GREENERY

This week I am featuring the ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Products from the Season of Green & Gold Suite.  I have made several cards with this suite over the last couple of months, but until I started planning the cards for this week, I didn't realize that I had mainly used the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Paper, and really hadn't used the Golden Greenery Stamp Set all that much.

Today I decided I needed to change that and ink up the stamps.

I also noticed that almost all of my cards made with this suite have been "green & gold".  Quite frankly I was getting a little tired of "green & gold" so thought I'd experiment with some other colors.  This card was my result.

The foliage stamps in Golden Greenery are all two-step stamps -- another thing I discovered as I started stamping with them.  I can't believe how many details I never noticed about this stamp set!

Two-step stamps have never been my favorite type of stamps as often have trouble getting them aligned.  Well, I figured out what I was doing wrong!  I normally stamp what I call the "background" stamp first (the one with the more solid image) and then stamp the "detail" stamp second (the one with the finer lines & details).  This time I experimented with stamping the detailed image first and then the coordinating image.  What a difference!  It's so much easier!  It only took me 15 years to figure that out!

The colors I used for my card are Petunia Pop and Summer Splash--two of my favorites from the 24-26 In-Colors.  This card is mostly "stamps, ink & paper".  OK, I added some ribbon,  gems, die cut the sentiment and embossed the front of the card, but other than that it is all just stamps, ink & paper.

The Birthday sentiment and the die is from the Unbounded Love Bundle.

I was going to do some more stamping on the inside of the card but decided to stay with just adding decorative strips of the Unbounded Beauty DSP and Petunia Pop Glimmer Paper.

What do you think of my non "green & gold"  card?  I'm happy with it!
