Today's cute card uses the Watercolor Embossed Vellum Technique that I demonstrated yesterday in my Learning With Friends video.
Aren't these little guys cute! There are so many cute little critters in the Storybook Friends stamp set that it is difficult to choose which ones to use -- so I just selected those that fit best on the little squares down the left side of the card.
Of all the backgrounds I made using the Watercolor Embossed Vellum Technique this one is my favorite. The color combination of Pecan Pie, Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce is one that I never would have come up with without the help of my trusty Color Coach.
If you missed the Learning with Friends video where I show how to do the Watercolor Embossed Vellum Technique you can always watch the replay.
In the video you will also see some additional backgrounds made with this technique.
I turned today's card into another Easter Card. I made the cards for this week over a period of a few weeks, and until I sat down to write the posts I didn't realize that they all were "Easter Greetings" cards. Well, that's OK. I need to start building my stash of Easter Cards, so this week got me started with my first three.
All three of my furry friends were colored with Stampin' Blends. Moe, the squirrel at the top, was colored with Crumb Cake. Curly, the bunny in the middle, was colored with Pecan Pie, and Larry- who is maybe a racoon, at the bottom was colored with Smokey Slate.
For the inside of the card I simply matted my sentiment layer with Night of Navy, and who would have guessed that Pecan Pie and Night of Navy look great together? The sentiment is from a very old, retired stamp set called Glorious Gift. This is probably one stamp set I will keep forever as it has my favorite Easter sentiment.
