This week I am using a new stamp set from the Annual Catalog. This Feathered Fun set first came to my attention at OnStage when a demonstrator introduced the set to us and showed us several beautiful cards she made. I apologize, I do not remember her name, but her cards were gorgeous.
The Feathered Fun Stamp set includes birds in pairs, like these two on my card, but it also includes separate birds that are mirror images of each other so you can have them looking at each other. I colored my parrots and tit mouse (or is it tit mice) with Stampin' Blends, but the stamps are also reversible. So, if you are not someone who likes color, you can stamp the lined image and then flip the stamp over and stamp the bird a solid color.
My card layout is based on my FSF Sketch # 3. I shared this sketch in a Learning With Friends video earlier this month. If you missed it, you can watch the replay on YouTube and also see other variations of the sketch.
The pretty designer series paper (DSP) behind my Love Birds is from The Beautiful Gallery DSP Collection. Both of the DSP designs I used would likely be considered the "B" side of the paper, but I love them.
This stamp set also includes a few branches. I stamped mine with Pecan Pie and then fussy cut them. The branch for the Parrots' perch was woven through slits cut on the inside edge of each of the "feet". I used a craft knife to make the small slits.
