PAINTED SAIL

Today's card uses the "Painting with Enamel Effects" Technique to create highlights on the water and the sails and also some puffy clouds.

This card was made using the Hybrid Embossing Folder from the Sunrise Sailing Bundle.  The Hybrid Embossing Folder is certainly a way to make a beautiful quick and easy card.  The embossing folder embosses the water the boat and the clouds.  After embossing I used a Blending Brush to color the sky and water.  Because of the embossing it "automatically" creates color variation to highlight the raised areas.

There is also this large sailboat die that works in the hybrid folder to die cut the sailboat as it embosses it.  I stamped, embossed and die cut a separate boat to pop it up on top of the sailboat that was embossed in the background layer.  

I decided to make the boat red to honor my neighbor and her red sailboat which she named "OH NO", which only reads "OH NO" when the boat is upside down!  She has a great sense of humor!  

White Pearlized Enamel Effects was brushed on the sails to give them a nice sheen.  The Pearlized Effects was also brushed randomly on the water to give it some highlights. Then I "puddled" the Pearlized Effects on the clouds to give them a puffy texture and appearance.

For the inside of the card I used the Hybrid Embossing folder to emboss some "water" and then tore the top edge to make it look more like waves.

This card is totally sentiment free!  Why?  Partially because I didn't want to cover up any of the pretty clouds or water, but also because I couldn't decide what type of sentiment to put on this card.  What kind of sentiment would you choose?
