So far, you have seen a couple of cards made with the rainbow and sun this week, so today I thought I would experiment with the leaf stem stamp.
As with the other cards this week, the first thing I reached for was the fun Boho Vibes Designer Series Paper. As I pulled out the packet and started looking through it to choose which designs I would use, I thought about the word BOHO and wondered what it really means. I mentally associate the word "Boho" with the 1960's, but I don't know why and wasn't even sure if that was accurate. So, I decided to "Google it" (isn't that where we get our information these days?), and see what Google had to say.
Google says that Boho style is an aesthetic that mixes different cultures and artistic expressions into an eclectic style. It refers to a person or style that is unconventional, artistic, and often associated with a free-spirited, nonconformist lifestyle. Hmmm. Kind of sounds like the 1960's doesn't it?
The main reason I purchased this Boho Vibes DSP is because it is different from most of the paper I already have. I like the bold graphics and unique color combinations it has.
The design I chose for my focal point was this large, bold, half-arch. I matted it with Mossy Meadow and layered it over the Mossy Meadow DSP design. The "trellis/screen" design of the DSP is definitely more subdued, but it lets the bold arches really pop.
I stamped the leaf stem twice with Mossy Meadow on Basic White. I'm not sure if my Mossy Meadow ink pad was poorly inked or if it is the design of the stamp, but when I stamped the leaves I got a lot of nice color variation. I suspect it was my ink pad because the stamp is not classified as a distINKtive stamp, nor does it look like one. But I really like the variation on the color of the leaves.
The sentiment from Sunshine Vibes was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White cardstock. It looked a little stark so I used a Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend and swiped some color across each word. Then I snipped it apart and adhered it over the fussy cut leaves with dimensionals.
The inside of the card is clean and simple with a strip of DSP matted to Mossy Meadow cardstock to add just a bit of decoration.
