TRADITIONS OF CHRISTMAS

I've decided to do something a little different this week.  Rather than feature a Suite of Products, a Bundle or a specific Stamp Set, I am going to be sharing cards created using Designer Series Paper.  If you are a paper crafter, you are probably like me in that you have way more Designer Series Paper (DSP) than you will ever use.  So let's explore some great ways to actually use our DSP rather than just admiring it!

For today's card I used one of my Go-To Sketches.  You have probably seen me use this sketch many times because I love it for its versatility.

The three main elements of the sketch can be arranged in multiple different ways, and you can also change up the shapes of the elements.  I also love it because it is a great sketch to show off pretty DSP.  Each element could be a different DSP design, or you can mix and match DSP with embossed cardstock or just use different colors of cardstock.  The possibilities are endless.

I stuck close to the basic sketch for today's card.  The only stamping on this card was the sentiment.  Everything else is either cardstock or designer series paper.

The DSP that I used was Traditions of Christmas.  This is a beautiful Specialty Paper with one side of each sheet of designer paper sporting lots of gold foil and beautiful images.  The other side has more subtle imaging that is perfect for backgrounds.

Even the beautiful bouquet of flowers was from one of the DSP designs.  Of course, the coordinating die from Christmas Greenery made cutting out those flowers quick and easy!

The sentiment is from the Magic & Hope stamp set which is an Online Exclusive. 

The pretty oval die cut that was used for the sentiment is from the Traditional Labels Dies.

All and all, this card was quick and easy to make.

I kept the inside of the card quick and easy also -- but never naked.  Two strips of the same DSP as was used on the front adds a bit of color and coordinates with the card front.  The inside sentiment is from the Shepherd's Care stamp set.  I thought it coordinated nicely with the sentiment on the front.

The little sneak peek of the envelope shows the pretty foiled reverse side of one of those DSP strips decorating the flap.
