TURTLE-Y AWESOME DIAGONAL CARD

I had a hard time this week deciding which products I wanted to feature.  I debated about calling it DSP Week or Fun Folds Week, but couldn't choose.  So, I'm just going to call it Hodgepodge Week.  I'm going to use a little bit of everything.

I also thought it was time to revisit some of the fun products from the 2025 - 2026 Annual Catalog.  We tend to get so many new products introduced via the Mini Catalogs and Monthly Online Exclusives that I sometimes forget about the awesome products in the Annual Catalog.

Today's card is made using the Turtle-Y Cute Suite.  A friend recently told me a funny story about someone she knows that had experienced a bit of a fall who had trouble getting back up after she fell.  (Don't worry, everyone is fine!).   But that story, which we chuckled over, made me think of this turtle laying on his back.

All the images on this card were snipped from the Turtle-Y Awesome Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The only stamping on this card was the sentiment from Turtle-Y Awesome stamp set.

This DSP collection includes two sheets that have various scenes that can be used for card fronts.  This particular scene looks like a pretty park. 

I am not sure what the official name of this Fun Fold is, but I call it a Diagonal Fun Fold.  It does require 12" x 12" cardstock.  I used Two-Tone Garden Green.  Can you see that the angle from top left down to the right is a lighter color green than the other border edges?  That's one of the unique features of Two-Tone Cardstock.  One side is the "normal" Garden Green color and the oppositie side is a lighter shade of Garden Green.

The two little red birds and the flowers on the right are also images from the DSP.  The Turtle-Y Awesome dies include dies that will cut out many of the images on the paper.  Those dies made quick and easy work of cutting out the birds.   

If you open up the bottom flap toward the right this is what you see.

And if you open this flap toward the left this is the card fully opened.

To decorate the message layer, I snipped out an additional image of a turtle enjoying some ice cream and another little pot of flowers.

DANCING THROUGH THE MUSHROOMS

I no longer make many baby cards, as I haven't had much of a need for them recently.  But it is always smart to have a couple on hand -- just in case.  So today I decided to use the Happier than Happy Bundle to restock my stash.  It seems like the perfect bundle to use for a baby card.

It has been quite a while since I made one of these Diagonal Fun Fold cards.  In fact, it has apparently been so long that I couldn't even find my Fun Fold Template for this design, so I had to start from scratch today.

The diagonal on the card base is the easy part, but then getting the two pieces of angled designer series paper to fit correctly was a little more difficult for me.  But I figured it out and to make it easy for you I have created a tutorial with all the cutting and scoring dimensions.  I hope you will download a copy and make use of it!

My friend Bob the Bear has brought a friend today to also welcome the new baby.  Her name is Olivia the Owl.  They are having a lot of fun as they dance through the mushrooms.  Maybe they are eating some along the way.

The Happy Forest Friends 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper makes creating with this bundle so fun and easy.   I love the design of the paper behind Bob with the trees nestled in the pretty woodland floor covered with leaves and mushrooms.

There are also all kinds of images in this paper collection that can snipped out and used on projects, but today rather than cut them out from the designer paper, I stamped Bob with Soft Suede Ink and Olivia with Basic Gray Ink, and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  Olivia's tree trunk perch and the mushrooms surrounding it were all snipped from the designer paper.

The sentiment on the "inside" of the card is one of my most favorite baby sentiments that I have.  It is from a very old sentiment set that I probably will always keep called Occasional Quotes.
