FRIENDS IN THE WINDOW

Today's cute Window Card was made with the Stylish Shapes Dies and the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Stampin' Up! does have "ready-made" window dies called Picture This, but since I don't own them, I decided that I could make a Window Card using products I already have.  Besides, by mixing and matching dies from both the Stylish Shapes and Stitched Rectangle die sets, I could have both rectangular and circle shapes on my card.

What do you think?  I like how this turned out!

You have already met Foxy, Olivia and Bob earlier this week on our Walk through the Woods.  While they are hugely different from each other, and probably would not normally be friends, they decided to put aside their differences and become friends.  They are visiting at Fred's house, but Fred is still a little shy (remember him peaking from behind the tree) so he didn't want pose for the camera.  Fred said he would take the picture.  Steve the snail was just way too slow, so since he's running late, these friends decided to start the party without him.

Fred owns a Lava Lamp, and you can see the blue & pink glow it creates behind the friends.

These little guys are very thrifty and when they cut out their windows, they saved the pieces to decorate the inside of their card.

They all told me to be sure to Thank You for visiting us this week.  They were happy to get to meet you and said that if you would like to become friends and stay in touch, you should sign up for the Fairless Stampin' Flair Newsletter.  It will help you to stay updated on all types of fun activities and special promotions and also provide some additional crafting inspiration!

Olivia, the wisest of the three friends, says that if you would like to make a window card like this, be sure to download the free tutorial.  Bob, who is about to get ready for his long winter nap and is not feeling overly ambitious, also thinks using the tutorial is a clever idea because it saves a lot of thinking (and work).  If you agree with them, you can access the tutorial here.

Foxy says to check out the List below if you want to know more about the products I used to make the card.

DANCING THROUGH THE MUSHROOMS

I no longer make many baby cards, as I haven't had much of a need for them recently.  But it is always smart to have a couple on hand -- just in case.  So today I decided to use the Happier than Happy Bundle to restock my stash.  It seems like the perfect bundle to use for a baby card.

It has been quite a while since I made one of these Diagonal Fun Fold cards.  In fact, it has apparently been so long that I couldn't even find my Fun Fold Template for this design, so I had to start from scratch today.

The diagonal on the card base is the easy part, but then getting the two pieces of angled designer series paper to fit correctly was a little more difficult for me.  But I figured it out and to make it easy for you I have created a tutorial with all the cutting and scoring dimensions.  I hope you will download a copy and make use of it!

My friend Bob the Bear has brought a friend today to also welcome the new baby.  Her name is Olivia the Owl.  They are having a lot of fun as they dance through the mushrooms.  Maybe they are eating some along the way.

The Happy Forest Friends 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper makes creating with this bundle so fun and easy.   I love the design of the paper behind Bob with the trees nestled in the pretty woodland floor covered with leaves and mushrooms.

There are also all kinds of images in this paper collection that can snipped out and used on projects, but today rather than cut them out from the designer paper, I stamped Bob with Soft Suede Ink and Olivia with Basic Gray Ink, and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  Olivia's tree trunk perch and the mushrooms surrounding it were all snipped from the designer paper.

The sentiment on the "inside" of the card is one of my most favorite baby sentiments that I have.  It is from a very old sentiment set that I probably will always keep called Occasional Quotes.

For a list of current products that I used on this card, please refer to the list below.  If you want more information on any of the products, click on the available links to see more details.

WALKING THROUGH THE WOODS

It's a new week and thus it's time for a new featured bundle.  I have had my eye on this bundle since I first saw it in the 22-23 Annual Catalog, but other items always seemed to take priority.  When the Seasonal Sale was announced last month, I decided to take advantage of the bargain and get it.

It is so cute and there is also Designer Series Paper (DSP) that coordinates with the Stamp Set!  Today's card took full advantage of the DSP.

I decided to use this Double Z Fun Fold design to show off as many of the happy little critters as I could as they take their walk through the woods.

First, we meet Bob the Bear.  He's waving to his friend Olivia the Owl and also has a couple of winged friends keeping him company.

Olivia is patiently waiting for Bob to arrive as she relaxes on her Tree Trunk Perch and takes time to smell the flowers.

Olivia hasn't yet noticed Fred the Fox behind her who is hiding in the trees.  Maybe the birds behind her will chirp her a warning!

But Fred also has a friend named Foxy around the corner from Olivia, so if she is a wise owl, she had better be on the alert.  I don't think Steve the snail is going to be much help to her.  He's hiding in the mushrooms, and I suspect that is where he is going to stay!

All images on this card were snipped from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.  The only stamping was for the sentiment.

Thank you for accompanying me on my walk through the woods today.  We met some new friends who I'm sure we will see again this week.  I hope as they get to know each other over the next few days, they will also become "friendly" friends.

A detailed tutorial for today's card is available for download by using this link.
