BEACH BUNNY

Are any of you planning a spring trip to somewhere warm to enjoy a sandy beach?  My Beach Bunny today is spending her Easter Vacation at the beach.  

She is enjoying the warm sand and seashells.  I think she is in Hawaii as she is decked out for Easter with her Flower Lei.

Her beach was made with one of the patterns from By the Bay Designer Series Paper, and it is framed with Crumb Cake and Bashful Blue Diorama layers.  The layers are popped up with dimensionals to create sort of a shadow box.

The Bashful Blue top layer was embossed with one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders.  I am so excited about these new On-Line Exclusive embossing folders, and this one with the cross-hatch pattern is probably my favorite.

My Beach Bunny is checking out the Pearlescent Shells that she found in the Seagrass.

I love using the Pearlescent Specialty Paper for creating the seashells with the dies from Seaside Bay.  

My Beach Bunny was stamped with Black Memento ink and colored with Crumb Cake and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.  Her Lei was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then colored with Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends.  A tiny little rhinestone was added to the center of each flower.

The sentiment was also embossed with Gold Embossing Powder to add a little more shimmer and shine.

For the inside of the card, I used a leftover strip of the same Designer Series Paper as I used for the card front to create a "sky" at the top of the Basic White.

After heat embossing the sentiment from the retired Glorious Gift Stamp Set with gold embossing powder, the Basic White cardstock was double matted with Night of Navy and Crumb Cake.

DAINTY DELIGHT WINDOW CARD

Today's card is a Fun Fold Window Card.  It's really two cards in one.

The main card base, made with Thick Basic White cardstock, was covered with the pretty Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper.  The front of the card base was then die cut with the largest Circle Die from Stylish Shapes Dies.

I then adhered the Mossy Meadow cardstock to the inside of the front flap of the card base and centered the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes circle die inside the circle previously cut on the front of the card base and die cut the Mossy Meadow cardstock.  This created a Mossy Meadow "frame" around the window in the card front.

The "celebrate YOU" sentiment was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhered to the front of the card base with dimensionals at the lower right of the window.  This completed the main card base.

The "2nd" card base is adhered inside of the main card base with its fold on the right.  The front of the 2nd card base was decorated with Dainty Delight flowers, so that they show through the window.

Before adhering the two bouquets of flowers to the front of the Inside Card Base, I used my Blending Brush to add a Pool Party "sky" behind the flowers.  A simple Happy Birthday sentiment from the Heron Habitat stamp set and a few Brushed Brass Butterflies completed the "card front" of the inside card.

When you open the inside card, you will find some additional flowers, butterflies, and a framed sentiment.

All flower bouquets for this card were stamped with Black Memento ink, colored with Stampin' Blend on Basic White cardstock, and die cut with their coordinating dies.  I chose to stamp and die cut them rather than stamping them directly on the Basic White inside card base for two reasons.  

1. It made it easier to find the best position for them because I could move them around to find where I liked them best.
2. And the more important reason, if I would have stamped them directly on the Basic White and then color them with Stampin' Blends, the ink would have bled through the cardstock, and the flap on the right which opens, would have required multiple layers or you would see the bleeding ink on the opposite side.  I.E. I would have had to add a layer on at least one side of the flap, or I would have had a mess!

I think this will make a very pretty birthday card to send to someone special!  What do you think?
