HORIZON HAPPINESS

Today I have a Double Flap Fun Fold card for you that again uses the On the Horizon Stamp Set and New Horizons Designer Series Paper.  The colors used are Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya.

This is an easy Fun Fold where the left flap folds in first and then the right flap folds over top of it.

There are only a few things to be careful of when you make this card.  First as you cut your designer series paper for the two flaps, you want to make sure you cut them so that the pattern flows from left to right on the finished card.

The second thing to be aware of is to make sure your ribbon will slide freely between the scalloped rectangle die cut and the Pale Papaya sentiment mat.

And the third thing is to be careful that you only adhere the sentiment assembly to the left flap.

The ribbon that passes "through" the sentiment will help hold the card closed.

The finished size of this fun fold is 5-1/2" x 4" (rather than 4-1/4").  As you cut your cardstock to decorate the inside, be sure to remember that it is not the typical standard size.  I figured this out the "hard" way.  Thankfully, it is always easier to cut something smaller than make it bigger and fortunately, I had not yet adhered my layers together when I figured out my panel was too large to fit inside the card.

After I cut my two designer series paper panels for the card front, I had a 2" strip of DSP left over.   I'm not one to let a pretty piece of DSP go to waste, so I cut it in into two 1" strips and used them to decorate the inside of my card as well as my envelope.  No naked insides or envelopes is my motto! I added a border of Soft Succulent on my 1" DSP "scraps" before I adhered them to the inside of the card and to the left side of my envelope front.  For the inside of the card, I only added a border on the inboard side.  For the envelope, I added the border on both sides of the DSP strip.

SAILING ON A MOUNTAIN LAKE

Would you like to go sailing on a beautiful mountain lake like this one?  Doesn't it look like a peaceful place to relax?

It's Monday and time for a new featured bundle.  As I indicated yesterday, we used the On the Horizon Bundle for our May Stamp Camp-to-Go (SCTG), so this week I'm sharing some "bonus" ideas for my May Stamp Campers!  If you didn't participate in the May SCTG, I hope you will still enjoy these cards.  If you would ever like more information on my SCTG class, sign up for my Newsletter and you will receive all the information.

The cards this week will all use the On the Horizon Bundle, but today I also used the Let's Set Sail Bundle.  Both of these bundles are still available in the Jan - June Mini Catalog.  The Let's Set Sail Bundle has carried over into the new 22-23 Annual Catalog, but the On the Horizon Bundle did not.  So, if you haven't purchased this beautiful On the Horizon Bundle and the New Horizon designer series paper yet, don't wait too long and miss out!  The paper is GORGEOUS!  Even if you decide you don't want the bundle, you will LOVE this paper.

The New Horizon Designer Series Paper is a 6" x 6" collection, and the scenery is beautiful.  When I chose today's scene, I couldn't help but wish I was boating on this lake.  I live on a lake and when my lake looks like this, I just want to hop on my kayak or pontoon boat and take a ride!

The Let's Set Sail Bundle includes a Sailboat Builder Punch making it very quick and easy to stamp the two sails and boat and then just punch them out!

For the sentiment I used the new Stylish Shapes Dies.  These new dies have quickly become a go-to die set for me.  The flag dies are great for sentiments, and one fits this sentiment from On the Horizon stamp set perfectly.  I love the stitching around the dies.  Click on the Product Link below to see all the shapes included in the set.

I had fun stamping the water and the boat on the inside of my card, and you can also see a peak of the envelope to see that I stamped it again on the front.  The boat is made with three stamps, the boat & mast, the front sail and the rear sail.  This makes it easy to have different colors, and because it is a photopolymer stamp set, they are super easy to align!

I hope you enjoyed our sailboat ride on this peaceful mountain lake today.  I'm looking forward to soon being able to get out on my lake!  What are you looking forward to as we move towards summer!
