One Metallic Deer a-Leaping

 Deer a-Leaping

This week I am featuring the Peaceful Deer Bundle from the new Stampin' Up!® Fall Mini Catalog.  This bundle includes the Peaceful Dear Stamp Set and the Deer Builder Punch.  I love how Stampin' Up!  has so many coordinating products, and I one of my favorites is coordinating punches to go with a stamp.  Punches make it easy to make quick and simple cards.

Today's card is a Double Z-Fold.

Z-fold cards are a great fancy fold to showcase designer series paper (DSP), and today's card uses two of the patterns from the Peaceful Prints DSP.  Peaceful Prints is one of the Sale-A-Bration items you can choose to get for free with a $50 merchandize order.  I love this paper as it has a nice variety of colors and patterns.  One of the patterns can even be punched out with the Deer Builder Punch.  Be sure to come back on Wednesday to see a card made with that pattern choice.

The patterns used today are in Sahara Sand and Basic White.  I paired them with a Basic Black card base for a striking combination.  The deer was heat embossed with black embossing powder on one of the Brushed Metallic Foils available in the current Mini Catalog.  He is mounted on Sahara Sand and Basic Black die cuts from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  Don't you like how these two particular dies mate together?

The black and white gingham ribbon, from the current Mini Catalog completes the color coordination.  I added a few gold metallic pearls to set off the deer and sentiment.

The following image shows you what the "inside" of the card looks like.  I decorated the two basic white panels by stamping a couple of the smaller tree stamps with Sahara Sand ink and then added another sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set stamped in black.

If you would like to make this Peaceful Deer card, a free tutorial is available.  The tutorial includes step by step directions and also a cutting and scoring template to make the double Z-fold card.
