FRIENDS FOREVER - INK BLOWING

Today's card shows two friends who are vastly different having a wonderful time together.  Ellie the Elephant is one of the largest in the animal kingdom, and Pipsqueak the Mouse is just a tiny little guy, but they like hanging out together -- so long as Ellie watches where she steps!  Pipsqueak even brought Ellie a Daffodil Delight flower today, and you can see that Ellie is taking a closer look as Pipsqueak hands it to her.

Their colorful and interesting background on the large circle was made using the Ink Blowing Technique.  I shared this technique recently on a Connect to Create video.  If you missed it, you should check it out.  It is a lot of fun, so simple, and you never know just how it is going to turn out!  This one, if you use your imagination, sort of looks like trees behind Ellie with the sun peeking through, doesn't it?

The three circles on today's card were die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.  The Bermuda Bay background was die cut with a Stitched Rectangles die and if you are wondering, yes, I did push it off to the left side -- on purpose!

The two circles behind Ellie and Pipsqueak are embossed with the Splatters Embossing Folder from the Strips & Splatters Embossing Folders set of two.

The colors I used for the card were all selected based on the colors I used for the Ink Blowing-- Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Smokey Slate, and Daffodil Delight,

Yes, I probably did my color selection a little backwards this time, but as I was making the Ink Blowing background for the Technique Video, I used my Color Coach for recommendations on color combinations.  Figuring out colors is not my strength, so I use the Color Coach a lot!  Once I had the technique sheet completed, I just used those colors for the card.  I'm not sure I ever would have put Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay together, but I think the Color Coach knows what she is talking about.
