Fairless Stampin' Flair: OLD TRUSY PATINA TOOLS

This week I have decided to feature a new bundle that will be available in the Jan-April Mini Catalog which goes LIVE January 4, 2023. This was one of the first bundles to catch my eye in the new catalog. Probably because I have always been a girl that loves tools! As a kid, I remember following Dad around, and wanting to learn how to use his many tools!

I learned that most well-made tools last forever. In fact I still have several of my Dad's tools. Even though they may no longer be shiny, they still work just fine. That's why I thought the Faux Patina would make an appropriate background for today's card.

I shared this technique a long time ago, when Kathi Ondus and I were still collaborating on Connect to Create. I really love the beautiful backgrounds that can be made with the Faux Patina Technique. Here is the video I made for Connect to Create to show you how it's done.

On today's card I used the pegboard Die with Crumb Cake cardstock to create a place to hang the tools.

I actually made this card for my Coffee Club challenge this month. Our challenge was to use heat embossing in any way we wanted. So since the Faux Patina background included gold embossing powder, that qualified, but I was on a roll, so I also embossed the hammer, the crescent wrench and the tape measure with Silver Embossing Powder. The wrench is die cut from Silver Foil. The sentiment was die cut with a die from another new bundle, Everyday Details, coming January 4, 2024.

This Trusty Tools bundle has so many possibilities and I've been having lots of fun this week playing with it. There is Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Designer Series Paper (DSP) that coordinates with the Trusty Tools stamp set and dies, so be sure to come back later this week and see how they all work together.

I purposely kept the inside of my card simple. I had a leftover scrap of the Faux Patina, so I just used that to add a bit of decoration on the bottom of the card.
