This particular Fun Fold has a little bit of a twist because the main body of the card is made with DSP rather than cardstock.
There is a single 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to provide the foundation and support the DSP card, but the rest of the card base is made from one piece of Perennial Lavender designer series paper.
You can check out the tutorial to better understand the fun fold part of the card, but to put it simply, an 11" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series paper is scored 3 times and then folded back and forth on itself. The Lost Lagoon mottled strip that you see on the front is the reverse side of the pretty floral pattern.
The top "flap" of the card is 3 layers of DSP just folded back and forth. I did lightly adhere these folded sections together rather than depend on the Blackberry Bliss ribbon to hold the 3 layers in place, but it isn't absolutely necessary.
The above photo shows the inside of the card laying open, and here is where you can most clearly see that the card base is all designer series paper. One thing to make sure of is, if the DSP pattern is directional, that you cut it in the correct direction. For example, you wouldn't want the flowers on this card to be laying horizontal. You also need to make sure that the reverse side will be in the correct direction where it shows on the card front.
The sentiment is from Perennial Postage. I die cut it with a Stylish Shape Square die and put it on the diagonal for a little unexpected personality.
The Paper Butterfly was colored with Blending Brushes and a light layer of Wink of Stella on the wing tips. I adhered the butterfly to the sentiment with tiny dimensional pieces. Two Purple Shimmer Gems complete the sentiment focal point.
The Blackberry Bliss Ribbon is from my retired ribbon stash.
The Perennial Lavender Suite products that I used on this card are the following:
- Paper Butterfly Accents - Item #162612
- Perennial Postage Stamp Set - Item #162598
- Purple Fine Shimmer Gems - Item 162611
- Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
I only used the Perennial Stamp Set on this card, but I would highly recommend purchasing the Perennial Postage Bundle, as you are going to want those dies. If you purchase the items as a bundle you save 10%. The item number for the Perennial Postage bundle is - Item #162608
The currently available products that were used are listed below. All products that are part of the Perennial Lavender Suite will be available starting on January 4, 2024.
