EVERYDAY SPOTLIGHTING

This week I will be featuring the beautiful Everyday Details Bundle.  I love the images in this set, but for me the real star is the dies.  Be sure to check them out in the Product List below.

Today's card was made with the Spotlighting Technique.  It is an easy technique that adds a bit of interest to any card.

I shared this technique on Learning with Friends on February 1, 2024, and the focal point for this card was one of the cards I demonstrated.  If you missed that video you can watch the replay below.

I used the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the card front.  This ONLINE EXCLUSIVE is currently one of my favorite designer papers.  It has beautiful floral patterns on one side and a coordinating color wash pattern on the other side.

For the focal point on this card I used the Scalloped Contours dies.   The card would also be beautiful with the rectangle dies that are included in Everyday Details.

In the following close-up you can see the spotlighting.  The spotlight was die cut with one of the Everyday Details dies.

I wanted the focus of this card to be on the Spotlighting, but the flowerpot looked a little neglected when I left it white.  So, to dress it up I used the Paper Piecing Technique.  I stamped the flower pot on the Pool Party color wash design from Delightful floral and then cut it out and adhered it to the pot to dress it up a bit.

The sentiment was made using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid embossing folder and die.  I had been experimenting with that hybrid folder by brayering various colors on the it and then running the embossing folder with the die in it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  This makes several sentiments at one time, and so I sorted through my collection and chose this one for today's card.  This Hybrid Embossing Folder is definitely fun to play with, and it was nice to just sort through my existing sentiments that had accumulated during  playtime.

For the inside of the card I just stamped the flowers and colored them with Stampin' Blends.
