Today's card is really all about the Heartfelt Hexagon punch and making the most of it to create this pretty birthday card.
Usually when we think of punches the first thing that comes to mind is that they are a quick and easy tool to use for our sentiments. But some punch shapes also work well to step up your background just a bit.
I could have just put a piece of this pretty Fresh as a Daisy designer series paper on my card front, but since this hexagon shape nests nicely together, I punched out several of the hexagon shapes and laid them out so there was a small Pebbled Path border around each. This is still quick and simple, but it also creates a little more interest that a solid piece of designer paper.
Once that step was completed all that was needed was a sentiment. I chose this vertically oriented sentiment from Heartfelt Hexagons because that also added just a little more interest to the composition of the card.
Add a bit of ribbon and some Iridescent Rhinestones and the card is complete -- well except for the inside.
Remember, I am a firm believer that the inside of a card should never feel left out or forgotten.
I punched 3 more hexagons from the same Fresh as a Daisy designer series paper and added them along the bottom of the Basic White cardstock. The little flourish stamp, stamped with Crushed Curry ink adds the finishing touch. Or as my Mom would have said, "It just does something to it!"
